    Drawbridges Lockdown Process
    Closure Info:
The lockdown process for all drawbridges in Broward begins at 12PM, Sunday, September 1st with Florida Department of Highway bridges followed by Broward County bridges at 2:30PM. ALL drawbridges will be locked down until further notice. This is to facilitate evacuations, if necessary.

I don't understand it, just copying and pasting.

That's from Broward. From Fort Lauderdale:

BridgesAll drawbridges in Broward County will be locked in the down position by 8 p.m. tonight allowing only for vehicular traffic.

    Probably because of emergency vehicles.
Sirens going on Davie Blvd Bridge as we speak.

Spoke to the bridge operator at David Blvd Bridge on Channel 9 just now.
He said the bridges are on lock down from 5:30 PM today, and the RR Bridge 3:30 PM today.

Can't really argue considering that Andrew went south at a time it was thought to be ready to turn north. This thing is massive. A little burp can wreck a lot of plans.

Well bridge tenders have homes too!!!! I've seen bridges lock down if the winds are over 35 knots. Most of them will, even in non hurricanes.

Antigua a no hit. Barbuda, just 14 miles away, total destruction.

Port Miami closed now. No inbound.

ABC affiliate reporting from Marsh Harbor. Lots near washed away.
Sadly, there will be a high body count.

Completely different situation. Not only we re talking 1992 computer, sattelite and recon tools plus forecasting skills in their infancy but Andrew was being driven by a strong ridge to the north

This one is already beyond the edge of the ridge and drastically slowing down prior to turning.

Two things to remember. The forecast distance from the FL coast is less than the normal range of error at this point. Also, how little movement west from the current forecast is required to reach land.

As an aside, it's current projected path up the coast is almost the same as Matthew.

1700 model reflect what was not wanting to be released at 1400.
New model lines are separating again.
They don't have a firetrucking clue where it's going.

Why try to blow us, just tell the truth instead of selling commercials with B S.
Your freaking guessing and don't have a clue. Admit that and quite trying to be experts.

There is a storm coming. Report what you know....

Limited Instagram posting's coming out of Marsh Harbor this afternoon are heartbreaking.. They're basically underwater in town and one posting shows people being swept away by flood waters trying to get to better shelter once the one they were in became compromised . I cant imagine what Green Turtle or Man O War look like. Very sad indeed, Depressing that friends are losing all that they've worked for over the years and hopefully help and assistance will be swift in arrival as they're going to need a lot of help for just the basics in the next few months.

I would venture a guess that its basically foundations showing though the sand with few other solid pour concrete structures left standing. Other than that I would say that Bakers would be scraped clean from the earths crust... Cant imagine 185 mph sustained and gusts to 220 mph for 12 to 15 hours. That's equivalent to a F-3 / F-4 tornado for 15 hours ,There are no building codes for that. Walkers was in the process of being rebuilt and had large amounts of building material on site and I believe that the docks were just completed a month or so ago and they had the NE eye wall so that's going to devastate them as well.

At the eye, Bluff house and Green Turtle fairing well.
From friends north of the basin. Hoping to hang on after the eye.
No coms yet with new weather wave.

    No info from Treasure.
No info from Tip O Tilloo, Snake cay, Sea Spray or Pete's pub.
I would imagine the White Sound Harbor has blown thru again.
The Jib Room usually survives but may be a while before their heard from.
It may take a while for all of my friends to check in.
I'll pray till I hear from them all.

Yes, The MC has sore knees these last days...
All are invited to knee down and help.
