I recently bought a 2000 50' that was never rigged for fishing. Does anyone know if there is a plate glassed into the deck from the factory for me to drill and tap for attachment of a pedestal for a rocket launcher? seems about impossible to get under there if it requires thru-bolting.

I'm pretty sure there is. Grab a Ryobi moisture meter and run it along the deck, you should get drastically different readings where the plate is.

A thermal gun may show a pattern also.

There is on my 2002. The big issue is there is a tank under there, so getting the bolts in place was a real treat for sure.

Generally if there's an aluminum plate, you drill and tap the plate from the top and bolt from the top

Picking up the Rocket launcher from Bluewater Chairs in Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow. I will be drilling a test hole to see if there is a plate glassed in. I'll report back. BTW - Bluewater Chairs has been a pleasure to deal with if anybody is in the market for chairs, tables, rocket launchers etc...

The verdict is in.... There is no aluminum plate glassed into the deck on my 2000 50'. I drilled holes, made a backing plate and through bolted the rocket launcher in place. FYI
