I had a client interested in this GA and we made several offers, all of which should have been accepted. That was 7 months ago and I haven't seen her since then, but last I saw, she seemed to be very well taken care of.

I advised my client that I thought the price was on the high side, but this boat checked a lot of boxes for him and he was willing to pay a premium. Hard to believe that the seller let this one get away.

Back around 2007 I helped a client shop for a boat in that size and vintage. She had 3 GA on her short list and all three has flaws that prevented even making an offer.

one had soot coming into the lazarette due to portly design system lockers. There were also issue with the shore power inlets being mounted on the forward face of the Portuguese bridge with lose wiring inside. There were other issues i forgot.

Could have been isolated issues but not confidence inspiring

The Alaskan's built by Gary Oviott were built on the 'earn while you learn' program. Each one got better, but each of them had a few quirks. They weren't bad boats, but they were bad enough for one of their salesmen to recognize an opportunity to build a better boat. These are the origins of Outer Reef. If you can find an Alaskan that has been kept up and/or updated, it should serve you well.

I thought there was a connection thru all these years but never knew this for a repeatable fact.
Thanks boss for helping me get my notes more correct.

How does that arch fold down or come off?

It's definitely hinged. Not sure if it folds forward or backward though.

It would have to fold aft. Folding forward would drop the electronics on the helm.
