trying to get everyone's opinion on installing a set of spray rails from the bow all the way to the stern like the Carolina boats have. Does anyone have any experience with them on these boats or any pics

If you're going to install them in just the bow, they work. The ones that run all of the way to the stern are to fix an inherent stability issue and added on after the fact usually. I'm not a fan of any of the Carolina SF with just a few exceptions, Carolina Classic and Bayliss, well and Hatteras but not a custom......I've run Davis, Buddy Davis', Sonny Briggs, and they all like to lean in the stern corners in a following sea.....they're ok on the beam and great on the bow except some BD's and Davis are wetter than wet on the ones they screwed up the trim on.

I heard they helped with the roll and speed my 46 has a tower and she is a roller my old 42 post had the spray rails in just the front and worked pretty good do the ones that run to the back help with the speed adding more lift

Yes, they can help with the speed by creating more lift if done properly.

Make sure and have them done properly, otherwise they will break off. there is a 55 viking down here which has the smart rails installed and after about 3 years they are half broken off already. Also don't go with too large a rail as you will then increase the amount of slamming.

    good luck with the job

To have that work done go to DeRouvilles Boatshop in Bayville N.J. I keep my 41 Viking there, they always do excellent work.
