Here is the latest view of the massive Lurssen Project 'Thunder'. We can see alot more details now than when she was launched. She just gives me the impression of a very large robot but you can cast your thoughts and opinions.

A really nice looking yacht! I say she is one of the best looking and one of my personal favorites to come out of Lurssen for awhile. It is also very interesting that she has a "movable helicopter pad." I don't really see the robot like you said but i think it looks wonderful especially the glass in the center.. I think that is the atrium. But never the less another beautiful yacht that has come out of Lurssen.

She also kinda reminds me of MY Symphony with the aft.. I don't know how to really to describe it though..

Beautiful if you like angles...otherwise. The telescoping helicopter hangar is very interesting, they have actually gone out of fashion on military ships in favour of either a fixed hangar or no hangar.

But in comparison to other 'recently floated oud' yachts from Lurssen she looks very unfinished. I dont think we will see her on seatrials for a long time

Oops.... I do think that she looks a bit to high in comparison with the heigth of her bow. Former project Mistral had the same issue..

I am doing some seatrails with a serious buyer in the North Sea at the moment, as I am selling my racing sail boat. We caught Thunder this afternoon in the German Bay sw of the island of Helgoland at almost 20 Kts SOG. Looks pretty impressive at speed and in the open sea.

Part of the reason why she might look a bit tall for her length is that in order to accommodate the bridge deck helicopter hangar the designers have created a false fourth superstructure deck.

She looks awesome! I still say this is one of the coolest and most beautiful Lurssen yachts built. Awesome yacht.

She is coming along nice. I can't wait to see what her finally finished. I love the design but I love the glass atrium the most.. Unusual on yachts and even super yachts for that matter.

Any news on Project Thunder? Back in September she went to the Blohm & Voss dry dock in Hamburg and apparently stayed there ever since.

Nope haven't heard any news yet.. I don't know for sure but could there be a major change that required Thunder to go in a dry dock and get covered up?
