The trend in sportfishers is for no rails, especially with the custom builders. More about the look than anything, but frankly there is little...
There is no finish, just the natural oils in the teak. Capt J is correct. The best product to use that I have found is powdered oxyclean or...
[ATTACH] Deck is finished. Turned out great. Now waiting on lumber for covering boards.
Pac Blue is correct, but the price would have to be huge for mine. I've owned lots of boats, but this one would be hard to replace in my mind.
The guy I use is based in NC and does a lot of independent work for the custom Carolina builders. He buys lumber and rips, routers and planes it,...
Decided to pull the trigger on a new teak cockpit and cover boards on my 53. Will post updates as we progress.
I have a 2007 53 with c-18s and love the boat. I was told it was the last one built but don't know for sure. Fit and finish is top notch in my...
Wow thats a new one. Usually it's the opposite and the smell is a bad one. If it was me I would try using an Ozone Generator to remove it. There...
Heres an example of the type of product I am referring to for interior finish that the builders use. DuPont™ 18320S™ & 18321S™
I think you will find that most interiors in modern day boats are a 2 part urethane system that's sprayed on. There are a number of commercial...
Its Alexseal Dolphine Blue Metallic.
I have had 3 different Posts but have had this one ( the 53 ) for 2 years. Had the paint and rail removal work done in Hampstead NC as I keep it...
Just got my 53 back after a hull paint and rail removal. She sure turned out pretty. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I have owned 2 posts, a 46 and now have a 2007 53'. Post built a very solid production boat, and if the boat you are looking at has been...
Enclosure is a "MUST" for sure. Water will find its way in if you don't have one.
There are not many boats out there with the exception of the Carolina boats that are not wet at times. Anytime you get a bow quartering wind in...
I am probably biased because I own a 53, but in my opinion its pretty hard to beat the design, look, and construction either of these boats. Both...
Im not sure where the sump is on a 96 - 50, but the lines are normally 1/2" and they come into the top of the sump lid on many models.
I would bet it drains into the shower sump. Thats were all my units drain into on my 53. I highly doubt it would just drain into the bilge.
Would be happy to share my experience with my 53. Same year and power. Great boat. Send me a message if you want to talk. Good luck
