Maybe, but it is an irony that the fastest car in the world is produced in the country with the lowest speed limits in the universe...

Personally, I would rather drive something classy like this one..

Why are all my passions expensive? I've gotta get my garage cleaned out. These are both taking up space, but I just can't part with either. One shot was taken during Speed Week at Bonneville back in the '70s, the other vintage racing more recently. I suspect they both qualify as exotic.

As an example, my 30 km trip to Stockholm is limited like this in Km/h: 30, 50, 60, 80, 70, 90, 70, 90, 70, 90, 70, 100, 90, 70, 50, 30. When I took my driving license we did not have any speed limits at all outside urban areas.

Last week they put up six new speed cameras on the six kilometer stretch where it is 60-80-70...! Then we have to pay a tax to get in to Stockholm, and another to get out again. On top of the carbon tax on cars and on fuel...

So, where should I use a top speed of 388 km/h...?

It is actually hard to know what effect all the speed limits have. What is certain is that the slower you drive when you crash, the less injuries. But it is not a correlation between slow speed and less accidents, rather the opposite. People are talking in their phones and doesn´t follow the traffic at all any longer. So eventually we will probably have automatic cars where we just put in the address in the navigator and lean back...

Today's cars are engineered to be very safe at high speeds, the problem is with the driver more so than the car's capabilities.
The government legislations are there to save us from ourselves.
My car is governed at 237km, and it feels like going 100km.

This Carrera "2 S" is one of my top 5 in terms of Porsche of legend (a little bit more beautiful than 993 "4 S" for its exclusive double wing. What a pity there isn't red-painted brakes like 4S).

I got a 997 S cabrio, with "exotic" license plates (one letter, three numbers) with the sticker MC that are also my first and last name initials.

Ah, the old license plate game.

Over here in Guernsey, we only have numbers and no letters. It is the only country with this system today.

I used to have '555' on my VW trike and '511' on my Moto Morini 500cc V twin. The Queen's Governor has just No.'1' on his official car..

The No.'1' bike plate is available to anyone. As a teenager it was changing hands for about £900. Today its a little more expensive. Numbers like '911' and '599' go for good money too.

It is a silly game, now when I go to the Traffic Dept. I choose the least memorable one going.

When I was trying to buy some decent looking aero kits for me old 450SLC, I couldn't find much good design in Germany...much of it was too square-ish or brute-tish. I told a friend they ought to let the Italians design them and then the Germans build them.

Of course they got much better at it later on. I thought Lorinser did a better job than AMG early on.
