That is sweet, another version to an amphicar. Would that be practical for a yacht? U'd have to have a ramp into the tender garage? Or lift it out of the water conventionally?

Yea, I know about these 'dolphins', I have seen them on documentaries recently. Would make a great toy for a yacht especially for use by guests.

Very nice boat, Wajer Osprey. Maybe to high for a small tender storage, but nice and exclusive if you have the space on board.

Platinum Yachts' conversion project, the "Dubawi", recently recieved a new 11-meter luxury tender from Barcelona Yacht Design.

Not sure saving 18" - 2ft is worth this if you are buying and have the space for an 8m tender. Why not just shorten bow?

Quite a few tenders are coming with the ability to chop off the bow so it can be stored in a slightly smaller tender garage.

This is the first I have seen. I would have thought one would have shown up by now, unless I just missed it.

    Hi,

I have seen this exact arrgt done by another builder about 3 yrs ago for a Tender where the Tender Garage was not as large when the boat was finished as it was intended to be originally.

The mother ship that had this issue has been written about here and is from a big well known yard.

Thanks K1W1. I will have to look that up later today when I have time.

Here is my shot of "Vibrant Curiosity" and her tender hanging outside her port garage. The 'sawed off' bow is evident in the shot. Maybe this is what K!W! is talking about...?

Funny, my first reaction on the picture above was that the yacht was transformed to a helicopter...

    Big @#% helo.

I remember that photo now. As I recall, there was also a bit of a discussion as to the bow of the tender.

    False Bows on Cruising Cats

Actually I've made the suggestion on several occassions that 'false bows' similar to this could be incorporated on the bows of some cruising catamarans as a safety device (with crash/collision bulkheads behind them)

Hi I'm new to the forum!

I was interested to read this thread about the megayacht tenders and wondered what your thoughts might be on this 11m cabin rib we are building called the PPG Gulwing. It's not far from completion now - we've just got the inside to finish off and then we'll start to market it. The web address is deleted

Would be keen to hear your comments!
