    Here is the current line of look-alikes to "Bling" from -97, was it go with the flow?

    The oil flow will not stop either, at least not due to lack of reserves, maybe more because of the global warming?

    I recognize Sabdes 95m, Sultan project, M-147 and, of course, Bling, but I can't recognize the third one. Where did you find it, Lars?

    Number 3 and 4 are by a French design company, Archibald in Paris, both are 100 m.
    Sultan, the Edmiston project designed by Martin Francis, is more like his own famous design ECO, with the curved windows. Here is small picture of her.

    Initially this was an exercise to redesign a 100 m yacht project and make it more futuristic. I have still not made more than this profile why facts and figures are an open question. Feel free to suggest the best power option and if so, I think she should have a cruising speed of 20 knots and at least a 5.000 NM range at 16...:)

    I am not of the flattering type, but Bing is a very well balanced design, timeless, I would say....therefore my interest. I would opt for Codag-electric, where the diesels are auxiliaries and generating plants. The turbine could be used for cruising long distances. That particular configuration allows you to place the engineroom aft and only one bulkhead need to be made fireproof. Noise reduction will be easier to achieve and at similar costs maintainance will be reduced considerably. using such a configuration. Power? 8-10 mW, depends on ttl weight, the gross weight of an interior for a length of 100 mtr might run-up at 150 ton light to 200 ton medium.

    Thanks for your interest, and I must agree, for her age she is still modern and thereby perhaps also timeless.

    Your power option is almost what I had in mind when I made the big blue funnel, where the forward part is two air inlets and aft is two exhausts, from above four distinct pipes.

    Deck plans only exist in my imagination and there are very few gadgets of the kind you see on many yachts these days. You could of course have a helipad and garage in the bow and some toys at the stern. But in general this yacht should have a very subdued and elegant layout and interior scheme, where quality and finish is more important than "false noses" ;)

    I think the continuosly curved glass panels that gives glarefree floor to ceiling views on the main deck should be followed by freestanding interior islands. Think top class Californian beach house rather than Beverly Hills castle... :)

    Q: Reference the profile below sheer... Are the sides concaved out enough for a forward view from a cabin or entertaining area below, while away?

    The hull sides has a slight barrel shape midships and the windows are also as barrels but seen from above, which is mainly to give each area a panoramic and glare-free view, but nothing is protruding from the side line. You´ll see forward but not straight ahead, if this answers your question?

    As D´Artois suggested, a CODAG-electric or maybe a CODAG-waterjet would be the best power source. CODAG means COmbined Diesel and Gasturbine and is used on a number of yachts. Here in Sweden we have it in The Visby Class of stealth corvettes, built of pvc-cored carbonfibre. They have four TF50 A turbines x 4.000 kW and two MTU 16 cyl diesels with 1.600 kW for "cruising". Top speed should be 35 knots, looks quite impressive with the spray from the KaMeWa´s... :cool:
