Her hull will be made of steel and a superstucture of aluminum. The Keel for this beauty of design was laid on Wednesday. 21st of February 2007 according to oceAnco. She is slated to be completed for late 2009.

The Y701, Amevi is groundbreaking and by far the best design to ever come out from Oceanco. The Y702 I don´t like as much and then the downhill continues. I am sure the Y705 is a "design" that will be noticed, but not necessarily for her beauty...

Looking into their projects section, there are another collection of non-designs I hope will remain there and that future buyers will ask for Nuvolari & Lenard or other good designers again.

Yes i do agree with you Lars, the Y701 was the breakthrough design of the Y700 series so far. If you check it, the Y702 is a carbon copy of 701 just that it is a couple meters longer.. and has a modified mast and maybe with a different hull colour.

Another Carbon copy of the 701 is the Y704 She just has the central glass atrium if you will.. but the same basic design. As for Y703.. she is a bit different, in that she is smaller i think around 75M and different design all together. But the Y705 is it for me design wise.. remember Lars, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, i think the 705 combines many elements of the current 700 yard numbers with off course a bit of individualism.

It's up to the individual to determine what they think is good looking.

I have been in the fashion industry and know pretty well how we can make you love something one season and hate it the next. It has little to do with good design, but anyway, I gave my personal view on this yacht. I don´t care if Azimut or other production boats are following fashion, but yachts of this magnitude should be treated more carefully in my opinion...;)

Yes she's A beuaty!!! Almost make me wish I still worked with yachts.. Its a far cry from the constellation day.. personally think she was the sleakest sexiest thing to hit the water.. I think to compare is difficult. You have to split them up. Traditional (bulbus, round, boring) Then Traditional but modern outlook(Lady Christine) then modern and SEXY! (constellation, stargate) then the new breed of yachts like this one.. I love modern but the engineering on these is expensive. Sensation in NZ has a modern way of tacleing these problems but still have a very traditional design looks wise.. stood in the middle of a 92Mtr one piece mold out there in Sensation.. now thats a feat of Engineering!!

    Hi YachtLuver,
Y701 has long upper and skylounge aft decks which cover nearly the entire main and upper aft decks; on the Y702 the main aft deck is completely open with a 7x3.5m pool that transforms into a helipad with large watertanks underneath... the designers of both these yachts are Nuvolari & Lenard and these is a similarity of course but if you look into the details you will certainly notice that these yachts are still very different. The Y704 has a totally different hull that Y701 and the large pool on the upper deck changes the interior layout completely. To me these 3 yachts look different...

    I agree with you, Michele.
Speaking of a "carbon copy" type of the design is a bit too superficial. Oino and Heywood are copying themselves and eachother (the newest ***** add shows designs of an 85 meter Luerssen Firebird, looking like pure Heywood, butappart from being a carbon copy of another design of the same add, they are actually designed by Oino), but in case of Nuvolar i& Lenard-Oceanco I would rather speak of Jazz, variations of the melody, improvisations on the theme...sure, when Duke is playing you can't miss the Master's sound, but sure he's not playing the same song all the time, right?

To my opinion Nuvolari & Lenard are doing a marvelous job. They set the new recognisable style for Oceanco and are developing this "sound" into a trademark...Is a Mercedes C series a copy of an S series? Boys, this is called BRANDING and you guys speaking of custom and by all means "original" are forgetting that these yachts are 1.-built with somebodies money, are
2.-providing work for thousands of people and are 3.-asuring a continuous request for a new product to a Yard. Making "freaks" and "revolutionary" designs would leave out at least one of the above three requests. Making the design with a vision of a Line, Brand and Continuity is a way larger task than just a search for revolution and aestetics.

Oceancos are at the moment reaching the highest prices on the market and who pays that money will tell you why (sure not for a carbon copy). At the moment Luerssens are cheaper and will get pulled up by Oceanco. Now that's the reflection of the concept and design in combination with an excellen craftmanship. These things are intentional and made with a masterplan behind.

I can see 701 as brand setter, a statement, a fundament. I then look at 702 as a concept, show peace, a head turner. A 703 is showing that a small extravaganza is permitted and a 704 is a big volume yacht with sleek look, comfirming the establishment of the Brand, now largely and clearly recognisable. A 705 is like "featuring" a "young" artist on the CD, enlarging the horizons. like a research of sound. And we are again talking of Jazz. But wasn't the same old Banneberg speaking of a designer like being a conductor of an orchestra? :)

701, 702, 704, 705 are the same hull. Everything that is below the waterline is the same, neglecting the interior off course. The superstructure is different. So they keep the difficult part the same and just change the superstructure.
    voila a new ship.

Then the part about beauty. 704 was not one of my favorites but the 705 is with it's half closed main deck much sleeker. If you look at the Design you'll get the impresion that it's in motion. The same is with the 702.

I've recently done a google search for images from the Monaco Boat Show (the one just gone) and have found a pic of a model of the Y705 on the oceanco stand. Looks different to the renders on the website, my guess is that the website is a bit out of date. IMO it'll most definately be noted for it's beauty!

The Pic of the model at the oceAnco stand at the 2007 MYS will most likely be the more up to date and near final design for Y-705. The one on the website was placed there just under a year ago so they might have changed a few things since then than appeared on the MYS model.

Hey thanks for the designer's website. She indeed looks very good there. There are also many other great designs there as well including the Maverick design and Mirage. Good Stuff Bjorn!

So anyone have any news relating the Y-705? She has been said by her designer and OceAnco to be finished by the end of 2009. Does this means a launch near the end of 2009 and delivery early 2010 or a launch pretty soon a delivery December?

Anyone has anything on the Y-705 project? The final few months of the year are here and she should be in final stages to prepare for launch.
