While wondering through the Amador County wine country, and visit one of our favorite wineries, (a whole other story in and of itself) I came across an old Chris Craft, "tied up" in a pond on the property. I'm sure the Chris Craft folks know much more about this particular boat / model / etc. than I do. I found great humor in that it was 125 miles inland, on a small pond in a vineyard, which is used through the summer as a stage for live bands, lounging, etc. (their website shows add'l picks of it)

Named Sophie. Have no idea how she got there, or the history of her. I do know the old wooden Chris Craft boats are not too common anymore, so it's a treat to come across them. I have no idea on the specific model, details, etc. but snapped a few picks with a cell phone camera.

I had a glass of Zin. in one hand, a wonderful cigar in the other, and a sunny afternoon with a boat in a pond. Pretty good day, all things considered.

Please pardon the low quality images.

"Sophie" looks to me like a 1960 36' Constellation. One of 202 hulls built in that length and model year. She probably doesn't need that radar anymore given her current cruising parameter.

The radar is the first thing I noticed as well:D Beautiful boat though, and not bad images either especially for a phone. Thanks for sharing your unique find!
