Two posts and its confirmed, talk about quick response!

Thanks for the help, i appreciate it..

Also... what is a 140? Anything that can hold a helicopter has my interest piqued.

    Hi,

Your welcome adn welcome to Yacht Forums.

I assume he is saying he was on a 140ft yacht with a helicopter, not that it would be any huge machine(Jet Ranger being about the biggest) on a yacht that size.

What sort of gear do you provide Tech Support for?

The old man of the Copier Industry, I remember my Dad had a leased machine as they wouldn't sell them outright back in the mid 70's and they used to come about once a month and check how many copies he had made so they could send the invoice.

To me any photocopier is a mentally Xerox by default just like many people call Vacuum Cleaning the house Hoovering or Luxing ( short for Electrolux) no matter what brand of implement they are using.

Welcome to YF. I just spent 2 months in the Maritimes primarily on the coasts of NB, NS, CB, and PEI looking for boats. I can tell you that there aren't many yachts in your neck of the woods. Fishing trawlers galore. The only megayacht is in the form of tall ships; Theodore Tugboat is an old friend of mine, and the rest seem to be small pleasure craft giving the locals weekend fun.

For anyone looking for spectacular and tranquil, our new member has it all around.

Ah, worse than that. It was a phony just for show on a 140' Trinity dinner yacht  , but it did garner a bit of attention in Mulgrave (liquor store and post office), N.S. back in the early 90's.

    She appears to be:

    "Canim" 96' x 18.3' 1930 Lake Union Drydock
    Ted Geary design

Built in 1930, Canim was an immediate head turner. She was one of four 96 footers built by Lake Union Drydock to an L.E. (Ted) Geary design. Geary was already a seasoned Naval Architect when he was commissioned to draw Canim (meaning Big Canoe) for Seattle Times publisher, Col. C. B. Blethen. Blethen wanted to go yachting in style and Geary's design would be the toast of the Seattle Yacht Club.
Original power: twin 150hp Washington diesels.

    Thank you!

Thank you so much, Eric. She's a stunner, and seeing her was a delightful way to start a morning of blackfishing. I appreciate your time and the history.

She looks like a yacht that I saw yesterday headed North off Ft Lauderdale Beach. From the rooster tail/wake she appeared to be jet drive. I don't know more than that.

    Where/when was this photo taken?

I am pretty sure that this is a Tarrab yacht. She is often in Fisher Island, Miami but I am not sure of the name. Hope this helps.

A friend sent it, don't know the origin. He was wondering who the builder was.

My poor girlfriend is sleeping down below in that picture, after a LONG summer of polishing the brass. I did it for 2 weeks, never again. Looks great for 5 minutes, kind of like my black car! Cool boat however!

I concur. She looks a lot like a Consolidated named "Alice" that was for sale in Palm Beach in the last few years.

I located a photo of "Alice". Judging by the rake of the windshields, she looks to be a few years newer than the subject yacht.

Need Help with IDing a Yacht in I saw in Gustavia

I was hanging out in Gustavia during the holidays and I noticed a yacht with a unique design... I couldn't get the name of it nor snap a picture... It had such a unique design that I was hoping one of you gurus could ID it...

It was all silver/black/metallic but the most distinguishing feature is that the entire top portion of the boat was shaped in a semicircle from bow to stern... someone mentioned they thought it was a phillipe starck design but I can't find any info other than his recent "A" yacht....
