Subtract one, 1963 35' Riviera from the log of surving steel boats.

This boat came to my attention two years ago, but no one at the marina ever returned my calls. It showed up on Craig's list last week advertised for salvage after it had already been cut to pieces, and most of it hauled off. I hate to think of all the bronze and brass and mahogany that went to waste.

I picked up the ship's wheel, instrument panel, and one helm seat out of the mud just to save something from the landfill.

Here's one that someone could probably get real cheap.

It's at the mouth of the Pensaukee River just north of Green Bay, WI. Been there for years. The property owner is still waiting for the boat owner to come back and get it.

    Pump it out.........

..........change the oil, add some fresh gas, some new batteries, and you are ready to cruise Lake michigan:D

Actually, this is quite a sad sight to see:( I see how a crapplastic boat or even a mushroom incubator could be left in such a state, but not a Roamer. I'd be tempted to winch it up and see what the hull is like. It would probably be cost prohibitive to fix, relative to the cost of buying a good one, but is such a waste. Only in Amereica!

    Have a nice day

I don't know what the hull would be like but probably not good. I talked to one guy the other day who said he had been fishing in that area for the last 10 years and it was there before that. I got on it the other day and salvaged a couple of pieces and saw that most of the wood had rotted and the aft was full of mud.

Sad. Another Regal Sedan accounted for, but not the way I would like to see it.

    Roamer Hardware

Looking at these pictures makes me want to take a parts trip!

I have been looking for the hinge and latch hardware for my handrail with no luck.

Does anyone have access to a set?

Call Robert Henkel, he helped me a few years ago. His website is http://www.chris-craft-parts.com/, you'll find the phone number there.

John the old Roamer on the Pensaukee River no longer has the hinge and latch hardware that you're looking for. If you're ever up in the Green Bay area, look me up and I'll take you out to the old boat.
