E-mail Messages

Does this forum send messages that have been posted to our inboxes? I don't seem to be getting the new posts in my inbox. In the control panel, I do have "receive instant notifications" checked. Any help would be great. I'll have nothing to do at work without e-mails from the group!

Doesn't seem to be working for me. I've checked and I have it set up right. No idea. Guess I'll have to earn my money at work now. It's a sad, sad day.

Yes, BUT: You can start your very OWN threads at the beginning - when you first come "into" (just like home ) the Roamer Club. So,..., getting bored - start anew.

That some Roamers were manufactured from aluminum as well... The Chris*Craft Commander Club that might be joining...Would that be the one headquartered in South Haven, Michigan? Thanks, William lll

GETTING INDIVIDUAL EMAIL MESSAGES

I was under the assumption that this forum would work like others I have been a part of in that, if you reply to a message in a particular thread (or make a fresh post), and select "receive instant notification", it would notify you if someone replied to YOUR post. I also assumed this system would not simply send out individual email messages from everyone that posted in the forum. The "notification" system is strictly for replies to your post? Am I correct in this assumption?

In other words, this new setup is, for the most part, strictly Internet based, meaning you must have your Internet browser to get ALL the messages that been posted.

Is there any way that they can set this forum up so that we have the ability to set up new topics of discussion within each catagory...this way we can follow the topics of interest for each of us...the current way has everything running together and can't be followed very easily?? Just an idea...let me know if it didn't make much sense in my above explanation.

Also, the direct link from the original area we had does not guide you to this area and the forum they list is not really where this one is located...it took some time to find this.

She does look great. What did you use for paint? I repainted my 41 regal with the same scheme. I used Awl-Grip and had her faired out to hide the weld seams and the other blemishes. Now it is hard to tell she is not Glass.
Was your 48 done the same way??

I am an original Roamer owner....my Dad bought our 48 Rivieria new in 1967. she's still in the family.

I went thru this with a recent survey. Make sure your surveyor has "metal boat" experience and knows how to do a quality untrasound. Also, the surveyor should look in all areas to see if there is any electrolysis in hidden places. Roamer used a vinyl interior undercoating to seal & protect both sides of the steel. The whole interior was sprayed before anything was installed. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Mark, love your 41. What year? Roamer used a fairing compound on all of their hull sides to hide the welds but didn't use it on the bottom. The compound can draw moisture if it's under water. My '67 48 Riv has the same thing.

My hull was smoothe .. It did not need faring out, And yes it does look like glass. The paint , I think it was called Bright side ?? WE all have great boats . good luck

Actually, I didn't think there were too many '65 MY 56' (AL)s in Florida.
You've got yourself a pretty fine cruiser there - originally featured as the "Bahamas Express" on the CC Roamer website.
Didja know she originally belonged to a beer baron from Milwaukee?
They tend to gravitate south.
She also won the Ft. Lauderdale Xmas Day Boat Parade not too long ago - but you already knew all of this, eh?
