    WELCOME ROAMER CLUB MEMBERS!

    Here it is - our brand new base camp located on prime internet real estate -- location, location, location!. We are also lucky to have an ace, Carl Camper, Yacht Forums Administrator, running the place; while for better or worse, I will continue on as your Roamer Club moderator.
    Similarly, our website: www.geocities.com/alloyed2sea will stay the same.
    Think everyone (est tu Wally?) should be well pleased, but do let me know what you think - changes (new topics, etc) can always be made.
    Now follow that Roamer. :p

    Welcome Roamer's!

    While I'm not a Chris Craft owner, my family has owned both a Connie and a Roamer. The first was owned by my dad. She was (I think at the time) the largest Chris Craft ever built, a 65' Connie named the "Pagliace" and was berthed in Holland, Michigan in 1974. Classic wood hull, but somehow I recall the superstructure being composite?

    The second, belonging to my brother, was kept along the Isles of Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale in the late 1980's. She was a 58' Roamer named "Illusion". I don't remember the years on these boats, although I have the specs in some boxes of old photographs.

    Eric is one of our moderators and he's brought a great deal of information and an equally good sense of humor to our forums. He's got control of the wheel here, so let him know the direction you want to go.

    Hi,

    I am selling my sailing ship to make acquisition of a chris craft of preference roamer 56'/57', I saw some years 60/70 of them.

    which steel used in this period?

    Chris Craft used corten steel for most of its Roamers.

    Caveat Emptor

    If it is a yachtfisher named "Liberty" (?) it certainly was a special. Probably a 57' or 56' with a cockpit added.
    (Whatever you buy - Make sure you get a survey)

    I will do alo for the next boat and poll the hulls with ultrasons

    Well I have to agree that this is looking better already. For us older computer illiterates this is a nice challenge! Looking forward to seeing the benefits, but have seen the same kind of site for the Marinette forum.

    Looking forward to seeing all of the changes (enhancements) YachtForums brings to the Roamer group. The Commander Club is in the process of investigating other options for its online membership, too.

    Chris Craft Roamer Flush Deck...

    I spotted this nice, flush-deck Roamer with an extended aft cockpit along the New River in Ft. Lauderdale. Unsure of the feet, but almost any Roamer... is sweet.

    Nothing like continuous (or is it continual) improvement. I'm looking forward to reading and using the new forums. Thank you for giving us Roamer owners a home.

    A day at the docks

    I was laying on my back on a splintery dock scraping fried varnish off a rub rail when I heard a female “Hello.” Squinting into the sun I saw a pretty girl. What luck I thought! “Hi I’m from the port district and You aren’t allowed to drop anything into the water”. My heart sank as fast as the scrapings. So I have been advised to have tarps and a vacuum at the ready or else. All the wile a diver next to me was cleaning a boat’s bottom releasing a clod of toxins into the water. I just smiled weakly and said no problem.
    This site is nice; I can still have new Roamer postings go to my email like the old days.
    I noticed that there are Sea Rays lurking on this site as well so Eric should remain vigilant at all times, you just can’t trust them.
