I'm going to be in California for 2 weeks and was wondering where the main yachting centres were (not to specific.. which city? maybe name of the marinas) Im mostly looking for places I can find superyachts and maybe daywork

any help would be greatly appreciated!

San Diego is probably your best bet for finding work. Check out Shelter Island and Harbor Island. There are a couple crew agencies out there too through which I've gotten some occasional work. You can also check out Marina del Rey (on the West Side of L.A.) and even Newport Beach (just south of L.A.).

I'm not too familiar with any of the ports in central or northern California though, so maybe someone else can help out with that area.

    Deckie,
Towards the southern part of San Diego is a town called National City that has a number of yacht yards, like Knight & Carver for one, so look there too.
