Sometimes it is cheaper to have fuel delivered then going to a standard fuel dock. Delivery companies will give lower prices because they have minimum amounts per trip, usually a few hundred gallons. Also, if your boat is at your house it will save a trip to the fuel dock.

Welcome to the People's Republic of Kalifornia.
In San Diego, it's cheaper to run south, fill up and head back north / home.

    Hi,

How far south do you want to go.

Today it is $457 a ton in Singapore a Ton is approx 1100 Litres or 290 US Gals.

This gives a indicated price of $1.54 a gallon.

This was for an order of 255 Tons or 280,500 Lts /74,088 US Gal.

It's amazing what can happen in a week or two. I understand that the Senate now doesn't want the Big 3 to invest the bailout money in clean technology since Toyota is still waiting to see their first dollar of profit on the Prius and gas is dropping. You'd think that with so much money at stake someone would know if we're coming or going.

Generally speaking, (I haven't looked at the prices recently) but out of California and into Mexico to either Rosarito or Ensenada.

(edit: which from San Diego is +/- 25 miles and 65 NM respectively)

I really hope your boat has some good nav, because Singapore is a lot more west then south.

    Hi,

Singapore has an easterly Longitude as a part of it's Geographical Position.

    It's Longitude is 103° 50' E, It's Latitude is also probably a lot less that yours at 1° 18' N.

So who is east of whose location?

I was referring to the fact that Propbet was in San Diego and for him to realistically reach Singapore he would need to head West. Is this not true?

The price varies around the Caribbean, but here in St. Kitts its still at $6 usd per gallon. Thats just a total rip off.

I spent a month in St. Kitts once and would never have a reason to go back. However they might have to buy a certain amount of gallons for it to be delivered to St. Kitts and, the fuel they are selling they could've bought months ago and that is why the price is high. Also the government might put a large duty on the fuel and that could also be why it is high.

    Capt J,
you spent a month in St. Kitts once? When was that? The Gasoline prices has dropped here from the same $6 usd to just over $3 usd.

The problem is that gasoline prices are regulated by the government, and diesel is not, so the oil companies do what they want with the diesel prices. The duty on fuel is always there so that has little to do with it.

That was about 10 years ago that I was there.
  20. On Dec 2, 08 I bought 325 gallons, delivered by truck in Fort Lauderdale for $2.19 per gallon plus 6% sales tax.
Today, Dec 12th, in Clearwater, FL I bought 790 gallons at the City dock and paid $1.74 per gallon, plus 7% tax, after a Boat US discount of 10 cents per gallon.
