Thanks Kiwi. Yes, I am aware. My simple point is that deep, low bouyancy hull sections offer improved efficiency characteristics ('rule cheaters') in displacement hulls up to a certain speed. Inevitably the submerged struts in Swath hulls make a lesser contribution (but some) to overall bouyancy when compared to the relatively constant vertical form of deep section hulls like Malcolm Tennant and others design. I would imagine that Swath form is perhaps the extremity of this design spectrum to exploit the benefits - at a cost.

Oh, so that's what it looks like, I thought the Wallys had sharper lines.
    Well, thank you anyway!

    Hi Guys,

I was in Hawaii last week and saw this yacht off Honolulu Friday. Sorry for the image quality, she was a long ways off shore. It looks to be 200'+ and she had a Hilo on back.

So, who knows what she is? I was thinking maybe Meduse? What do you guys think?

    Thanks

Its Feadship's "Meduse" . Recognizable also by the large satdom on top of its radar mast.

Confirmation also from yacht spotter's website where it writes that it has been seen off Maui on Dec. 26

Yes it is "Meduse" but you can also recognise her by the squared exhaust funnels at the base of the mast. Also, who could not recognise the MD900 NOTAR on the pad.

Thanks for the conformation guys. I thought it was "Meduse" but the bow didnt look right. It looks like it has some sort of metal or painted design on her bow and I had not seen that before.

    Yacht ID please

Hey there, I looked out from where I live towards the Bridgetown Harbour and saw this sail yacht departing. She looks familar but for some reason I can't ID her. I was hoping one of you all could. Barbados is VERY hazy at the moment because of Saharan dust that periodically blows across the Atlantic. Here is the shot....

You are right K1W1, I was thinking it was light canvas on the wooden superstructures of Creole, but of course Fleurtje is white already.

I'm 99% sure it is Fleurtje.

Any idea of where it's based nowadays? Last I know Edmiston had it listed at $14m a couple of years back when it's then owner was in jail for tax issues.

Yacht Spachted, (see what i did there?) if you could identify, please.

    Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I saw a Yacht a couple times in my area. Now, where I love, huge massive Yachts are pretty uncommon so obviously I just had to take notice. The only picture I have (currently) is a low-res picture (i'm trying to retreive a higher-res photograph)

Any help identifying the make/model of this boat so I can get a bit more information would be great. I've gone through many yacht websites and haven't found it yet. I know I don't have much of a chance in finding it, but a forum with people who know yachts probably would be a better bet then just me.

It was spotted in the Bellisle Bay in New Brunswick, Canada.

Looks a bit like a Fairline. I remember coming through your way (actually the Straits of Canso enroute to the St. Lawrence) back in the 90's when we got iced in with a 140 with a helicopter. Caused quite a stir.:D
