    I saw this "thing" yesterday at Istanbul on the Bosphorus :). I thought it was an art project at first. I think it deserves an award, don't you agree?

    Please tell me it is some kind of inland waterway, reception/party vessel? I hope so due to the open layout of the main deck . . . but I fear otherwise . . .

    When I read about the designing of M/Y A I was struck by the statement that the designer was given a completely free hand. Personally, I like the outcome there. THIS however is the potential result of such an arrangement. In fact it almost looks like several designers were given carte blanche here.

    There ya have it folks--the result of hiring a one-armed NA.
    This trumps my earlier suspicion that the design came from the guy who invented the Erector Set for kids.

    Well.... someone somewhere must think this has "great lines". Personally? I'm just not one of them. The potential as an artificial reef seem to fit well though.

    To add one more thing to the "reventon" s impressive list of amenities is the onboard A/C capability.

    I would like to draw your attention to the external A/C compressor unit on the starboard quarter. Someone took one from his home and installed it near the passageway :). Practical people, I have to admit.

    Not only did someone draw that on paper (while on crystal meth) but a second person said "beautiful, lets build it" and finally, someone actually paid for it. :eek:

    I had to come back and look at the artificial reef candidate again. Is there something odd about the anchor placement? If this thing ever gets underway wouldn't the chain locker get filled up pretty quickly?
    The Reef just gets better and better doesn't it....

    I thought that too...if you squint a bit you can see some nice hull lines and a lovely bow. Probably a conversion, possibly someone's pride and joy *shudder*

    What was it in a previous life?

    I see this as a conversion. If you cover the (presumeably added bow) and the pilothouse, this was an auto ferry. No interior bulkheads, generous scuppers just above a healthy rub strake. It could have been . . . . .

    Perhaps if one wanted to build a supersonic jet, but only had a cargo container to start with, it could look like this.
