    Carl,

I know you stopped by our booth last year to say hello when I was out and about. I like the idea of meeting at a specific time at one of the floating barges. Let's make an informal YF get together where we can place names to the signitures out here. You pick the barge, date and time.
By the way, all are welcome to stop by and say hello at our booth. We'll be in the engine tent next to CAT.

If you are coming from out of town and cannot find a reasonable hotel room, try www.homaway.com. I found a condo on the beach in Oakland park for $800 a week and a short cab ride to the Bahia Mar

I don't see it on the Show Management list so they must of been added after the list was completed. Should be a nice addition to the show.

Did an aerial photo shoot today and flew down the ICW by the show. The temp docks are arriving daily, even the barge loaded with guirders that all get driven into the bottom to keep all in place. Not too many boats have left the marinas (that's the way it looks down here during the summer), but they will soon. Most yards have yachts in getting ready for show. And new inventory is coming into FL daily, some dealers don't have any more room to hold it all.
    See you at FLIBS!

Excellent pics Tom! BTW... on my "creative parking plan", an old friend has a condo across from the show entrance, as seen in pic #2, upper right hand corner. He uses it as an office now, but at one time this was his bachelor pad. Now that he's married, he gives me his parking space each year. In return, I keep my mouth shut when his wife inquires about our skirt chasing days. :D

YL, that's Allegro on the outside dock. This is one of those yachts that has a very private owner, and the crew is the same way. I have several photos, but will only post these two, out of respect for the captain whom I've met before.

    Thanks Carl.
Not a bad trade off for keeping shut, as those parking spots are like gold during the busy season. I'll stick with the convention center.
Here's another shot, of the Swimming Hall of Fame. For those not familiar, this "pool" (actually three different pools) is where many national and international swimming meets are held. There are grandstands on either side.
But as you see, not a lot of real estate between the ICW and Atlantic Ocean.

(all photos property of tomseriophotography) Hate to put that in, but have found my photos being used in other company's ads.

Yes- That's us. We'll be at the Bartram & Brakenhoff display at the Las Olas Docks. Once again, any and all YF members are welcome to come around for a tour.

Sounds great! I am going to take your offer.

Just say 'I am a YFer' when I aboard? Are you sure other crew will not kick me out.

Yep- just identify yourself and say that Ken invited you. That ought to keep you from getting booted :D

Please accept my apologies in advance if I'm not personally able to show you around.

My boss is likely coming over for the show next week.

So I've been doing some rain-dancing in order to cool the atmosphere over there in preparation for his arrival (also I watched the NBC evening news yesterday when Brian Williams explained that some parts of Florida were even suffering from drought conditions). So I hope you appreciate my best efforts.

    That's the good news.

The bad news is that he'll let me know about the pay-rise I want when he gets back from playing golf in Palma next Monday. And before jetting off to Florida.

Hurricane season ain't over yet and there's a lot I could do with some of the weather coming out of the eastern-Atlantic right now...

If you know my boss, you'll give him a call right away to let him know just how valuable an employee he really has. If you don't, I'd suggest that any FLIBS exhibitors send off their checks and money orders c/o Carl at YachtForums like, pronto. Or as we say in France, "tout de suite"...?! ;)

Thanks for the invites to the Triton Party and the Redline Marine Party. And the official YF "put nameboards to hulls" remains as above? Aw c'mon, bring the YF hats already!

I'm extending an invite to come by and introduce yourself and/or take a look at some special built in the US expedition yachts:

I will be working the American Expedition Yachts display with Stuart Archer in the Custom Yachts/Designers tent, booth # 671, which is about in the middle.

I look forward to meeting the Forum members!

I've been giving some thought to this year's YF raft-up. We need a good, central location to meet. The north barge is too far away for people that are on the south docks. Also, it's often impossible to get a table on the barges. Not to mention the music is deafening! Not exactly conducive to meeting, talking and putting name plates to hulls.

Sooo... how about we meet at the Bahia Mar hotel bar? It's centrally located, air conditioned and has bathrooms. If this works for everyone, I'd like to propose we do this between 3-4:00 in the afternoon, on both Thursday & Friday.

    How does this sound?
