One of the industries' well known designers has created a design for a sail yacht that is set to stand the test of time. Ron Holland and his Design firm have created a 50M long Ketch rigged sail yacht that is to be built by CCYD. It is said that the yacht is designed out of a need for fast cruising and world trekking attributes. Mr. Holland says that it was envisioned that he would design a yacht this size that had the capability of being highly technified, allowing a small crew to operate her with ease. She must also have the ability to provide full luxurious comfort wherever she sails whether in high profile destinations or intimate destinations. (Paraphrased from Mr. Holland's website) The 50M is to optimize in the realm of windward sailing but still have the versatility to possess a shallow draft for shallow and secluded destinations. Sail gear and equipment as well as the navigational systems onboard will be of the highest order to conform to world standards. From the overall outward description to the interior description of this yacht would seem a seamless transition. The CCYD 50M is to feature an accommodation arrangement that can suit personal use of chartered use. The expansive full-beam master suite is to be located amidships where the full beam of the yacht can be utilized. It is also the one of the quietest areas of the yacht. The Master is to feature the sleeping area, lounging area, double sink bathroom and dressing room. The VIP room is the next category. The VIP room is usually the next room in terms of luxurious appeal and posh characteristics. There are to be four guest rooms and one could imagine that two persons would be accommodated in each. Crew cabins will be bountiful and enough for accommodating 8 crew. The crew will have a mess, laundry and galley. Moving back towards the exterior once more will reveal the wealth of space for relaxing. Guests will have a large bathing platform on the stern to enjoy. It is said that the 50M will have three social cockpits. The aft one will feature an access area down below to the passageway that leads to the owners and guests suites. The main cockpit social area is to feature a bounty of exterior seating, a bar, and adjoining tables. As mentioned before, the sail and navigational gear will be of the highest order. They will be integrated into two control stations, port and starboard. As a ketch rig, the 50M will feature a mainmast and a shorter mizzen mast. Three automatic roller furlers are to dominate the fore of the yacht.
