While i was on shipspotting i saw one or two pics of the vessel Mighty Servant 3 a bit too low in the water. I guess she really and truly sank. The pics date December 6, 2006 and i did not hear anything about this. Anybody else knew about this? http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=390877&cid=39 http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=390878 Photos by: WaveKnight
There were several articles on this incident. Here are some: http://www.offshore247.com/news/article.asp?Id=6538 http://www.rigzone.com/news/article.asp?a_id=38859 http://www.dockwise.be/index.php?sid=33&press=86 ~~~~~~~~ It's ironic that a semi-submersible vessel, which is designed to pick up floating cargo (just like the offshore rig it was carrying) would sink.
Yes, she sank while loading or unloading an oil platform, I think it was outside an African port. I have the story somewhere... OK, I see you already got it!
Yea, it said Angola. Thanks for the many links guys... this one definitley got past me. Where was I when this accident occured?..lol
Old, old news. The link below tells it in quite an entertaining fashion ( lawyers, dont'cha know) http://www.cargolaw.com/2006nightmare_mightyserve3.html
