    Mee too....

I got the Geezer status without outstanding posts, or the magic 100.

Do I smell inflation here Carl?

    What is the next level?
Admiral of the Ocean Sea like that upstart Christopher Colombus?
How many posts did he have.? :D

Too late to get a life, but good idea to log off..;)

Don't forget Carl is on his second user account... prior to CCamper he used "YachtForums" as his login. I'm nowhere near close to that one.

    Castlerock - you're bumped!

MaxResolution - you should have made sr. member after your first post!

SeaEric - you made historian status. Keep up the good work (or we'll make you a Registered User again!)

And finally... congratulations to one of YF's very own. I'm proud to say one of our members has become a new feature writer for YF, which means he's either working for peanuts, or he's getting paid to post! :D

    Conjestive Heart Failure?

Right. Here I thought I woud be in the 'dog house' for life if I couldn't curtail my phalactic acids, then I read this and I raced for the beta-L-carotines! I'm much better now, but I could still use an attractive frauline to assist me to my berth.

    On my way.

    Thanks Carl!

Now I have an excuse to pull my pants way up, beat people with my cane for a space at the early bird special and drive like I own the road. And I thought today was going to be a slow one. :)

Ah. And I never thought that I was setting an example when driving around in Florida in a 1970 gold Buick Electra 225 hunkered down so that the top of my Montreal Expos capped head was barely visible over the steering wheel.

Now there's an acorn of an idea for a new business model in "how to run a yachting forum profitably" which Carl might want to consider...?!

Let's just start off with a basic premise: that someone, somewhere, during the course of 2006, actually purchased a pre-owned 100ft+ yacht or even ordered a new-building, based primarily on what he (or she) had learned within YachtForums. Or am I just being wildly optimistic here or something?

I'll admit that I'm an optimistic sort of guy (until the Ø250 metre asteroid that we don't know about and noone's been tracking hits us uhmmm, tonight probably), so I reckon that some yacht broker or builder somewhere fairly owes YachtForums at least a 5% sales commission on the sale of one $10 million yacht. Which is $500,000. Carl could keep 1/3rd for himself, another 1/3rd for running costs of the website and then distribute the remaining 1/3rd to the rest of us...?!

Having seriously considered all the various methods by which YachtForums might obtain the sums due from the nefarious yacht brokers / builders in question, I came to the conclusion that the only method which stands a chance of working is this one:

Which is that all of the major yacht brokers / builders henceforth subscribe to the new YachtForums Fund (based in the Bahamas), on an entirely voluntary basis. This will ensure that any criticisms expressed by senior members on these forums is done so on a wholly constructive basis. And when it comes to discussion of non-contributors, let's all just bear in mind that according to a very old Coca Cola survey, negative comments reach a 10-fold audience... :D

Man! I was on the road all day yesterday and couldn't log on. Perhaps things might have gone better last night if I'd have had this in my bag of tricks... But no- I woke up alone!

    Ken,

I think you will have better luck if you wait until the weekend anyway. This should give you enough time to polish you technique.

You have nothing to worry about anyway. Chicks dig a salty "Senior".

    Happy hunting!! :)

    Carl,
    Thanks for the "new title".
Can't help thinking how "Senior Member" sounds suspiciously close to "Senior Citizen".

It may take the newly honored 'Senior Members' a little longer to reach the keyboard.

Need a turbo version of this:
