I thought the local news media was sensationalizing the King Tide event but when I got down to FLIBS, they weren’t exaggerating. The residential streets across the intracoastal from FLIBS were flooded. The intracoastal was flowing over the seawall and flooding local neighborhoods. It appeared to be more than a foot deep in many places. The real tell-tale was the water level along the docks at Bahia Mar. I grew up on these docks so I’ve got a reference spanning a few decades. Some of the cleats that are mounted to the side of the seawall were underwater. Imagine trying to tie-off to a submerged cleat?
With this North East wind on us these last few weeks, the St-Johns river (as usual) has no chance to drain. Your experiencing the whole Gulf-stream flow restricted with these endless winds. Our dock was built for storms. I may have designed the up ramp a little closer to the street though. This is my first look at some of our back lawn in a couple of weeks.
yes a beautiful classic Striker 54' or 62', they had quite the beam and huge cockpits, "Seafood" with Rodney at the flybridge helm was the real star of the movie Caddyshack
