surfing the internet, magazins and yachtforums for nice new looks of motoryachts i got bored. All similar: white, blue black. So i remembered an elder string on this forum about new ideas. Let's start with the colors! This is the ATAHUALPA. The first skin of a yacht of the new AH-class*. A 85m MY with a body near to those Luerssen builds every year. A bit lighter, more transparent. Green, yes, a tint that differs to the water in most places. The upper structure, my design, is soft gold with shiny golden applications. Appropriate fabric and glasswork. An unusual approach for the spectator: No real strukture of doors and windows recognizable, but separating lines elaborately drawen on the glass. More a piece of art than a constructional requirement. On the decks much space. Equipment like some of the younger Luerssen's, so if someone likes it he can go quickly to them, showing this pictures and don't need much talking and diskussiing. When starting the model (as my other models for architectural renderings at tsoe.com) i knew this colors do represent luck and wealth for the chineese people (and when they build 300m-towers in that schemes, there should be some 100mill. for an appropriate ship, too!). But when i saw the whole impression it did remind me more of the atztek gold. So this name was choosen. I like the idea of being a bit creative in designing yacht-faces. If you want to built it and the regular designer and shipyards cry and deny any help, than you'll need a naval architect (see that thread on yachtforums.com). But before let's talk about an acceptable tip for the ideas! * u know the AH-class? When you get to Monaco Formula 1 race with such a yacht and someone asks you what's your boat, then you nod your head ore arm to the harbour and say: "That!", and soon he and all people around understand and make: "AH!". That's the AH-class! -------- on this little pics you see nothing, take the big ones with the links for real joy! http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/frontside.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/frontdark.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/side.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/top.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/backside2.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/sidehigh.jpg http://www.tsoe.com/neu/ships/inspirations/atahualpa/backside1.jpg
For me both colors are too strong. One or the other needs to be muted somewhat. Also I would take the hull color out of the window tinting. Leave the window tint a more neutral charcoal. Kelly
Oh my gosh, I'm going blind! Wow, those colors certainly wake you up. Maybe a disclaimer warning folks before they scroll down is in order. Actually TomTom, that's not a bad idea. I like the mix of colors, but yes, little strong. But toned down a bit, you may be onto something. Thanks for sharing with us. Now let me put my sunglasses back on.
This Explorer has been posted before since it was a YachtForums member who wanted to see it in "Highlander green", so here is the 70 m Polara again. She has a double waterline and I think TomTom“s ATAHUALPA should get at least one yellow line to lift her up from the water a little...?
