Second Hull In 24-meter Archipelago Model Signed

In 2024 YF reported on the new -at the time- Archipelago 80 model with the first specimen being built. Since then the yard has managed the sale of the second hull in this model. Earlier this year it was announced that the yard was commissioned to build the second hull and it is designed by the same Chartwell Marine that did the first hull. The second hull was anticipated to commence build in early 2027.

Construction is expected to take place at the yard's recently-opened facility in Isle of Wright, UK. While this new vessel will be at its core similar to the first there are different features that will be implemented for the new owner. Besides hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, aluminium construction, long-range capabilities and ability to operate in shallow confines, the second hull will feature an interior developed in-house by the yard while the Naval Architecture and exterior remain Chartwell Marine designed.

Inside the interior volume is expected to be around 130 GT and feature a dedicated gym and sauna amenities, expanded galley facilities and enlarged indoor and outdoor dining areas. "Bringing the interior design in-house allows us to push the boundaries even further, creating a vessel that is not only technically exceptional but deeply personal to each owner", said Stephen Weatherley, CEO of Archipelago Yachts.

Despite being the second hull the core principles of the design from the yard still remain. There is peace-of-mind with the relative ease of traversing shallow coves and anchorages given the draft is only 3.3-feet. Option of having waterjet propulsion as well with top-speeds approaching 30-knots. The first hull is already well-underway in construction and this second hull is expected to complete construction in 2028.
