A government contract that CL Yachts fulfilled for a couple of catamaran ferries has been the impetus behind the creation of the C-Series series that is starting with the CLC115. The government contract was aimed at reducing operational harbour carbon emissions with the construction of a fleet of catamaran ferries. There were 4 40-meter and 2 35-meter passenger ferries. These vessels produced very efficient operations in terms of low-weight and optimized hull forms and the idea for translating this into a yacht application was born.

CL Yachts went with the 35-meter and since they already had the molds from the commercial project, it would be easier to translate. Given CL Yachts ability to work well in the composite realm and their expertise in advance resin-infusion techniques, a robust 35-meter power yacht catamaran could be built in a single pass. CL Yachts teased the world with the design for the CLC115 prior to the 2025 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS).

Since then, details continue to be refined. However, there are tangible points to this new model that prospective clients will have the chance to toggle to their preference. The general arrangement for example allows for a five or six cabin layout. However, the yard did suggest that new layouts would be available that allows for a mid-deck master suite. Additionally, clients will have options for solar panel integration and hybrid propulsion.

The model is commencing with the 35-meter however, the yard suggests of the possibility of a 40-meter, though it is not definite. However, remember these two sizes are the same sizes the yard has built for the commercial contract. The CLC115 is aimed at private ownership as well as the charter market with expressive interest from Asian and U.S locations. CL Yachts is using InCat Crowther for the Naval Architecture and exterior aspects of the build while the interior is the work of SuperTomato.
