Props grounded while well inside the channel outside north jetty & at fast idle, back on Sat. 4/18. Boat only draws 4 ft. Hillsboro Inlet.jpg
Appears another had issue in different area.

Historically, Hillsborough Inlet always had a shoal to the north and south. Watched many a newbie get stuck but never in the middle of the channel.

Some years back a huge dredge cut away the reef that went to the south, enabling it to be widened out so boats could run out without the jog but now that area has also become shallow from sand.
We learned first-hand on 4/18 just how shallow its become. Today the dredge was doing its thing but not outside even though the ocean was flat calm. Mentioned it to a local boat yard that will haul my boat next week, and the service mgr. said many other customers ran onto the sand.

Sorry to hear. Any vibration? At slow speed hopefully not too bad.

the shoaling there has been all over local news and social media as well.

From there to home all idle speed. No vibration but I'm sure all of the Prop Speed is gone. In the meantime, the sea tow crooks billed it at salvage rate but she was due for bottom paint and insurance said if any damage found they will add to the claim.
