I am home again, so here is my input/wish list. As a fan of explorer yachts (Moby/2009, 77m Explorer Black/2011 or "Ford F-350"/2020) I would like you to design a new explorer: - Length between 100 and 120 m - 6 or 7 decks above the waterline (room for everything on board, no support vessel necessary) - Helipad with a fixed hangar either up on the superstructure or at the stern like Lürssen's Shackleton (original design) - Hull colour: blue, grey ... (just not white) - Bow design: either "commercial" like an Ulstein X-Bow (i.e. SX 190/SX 238) or VARD (i.e. 4 19) or "yachtlike" along the lines of Baroness/2009, Silhouette/2012 or Lürssen's Shackleton I could go on with more "wishes", but I think this should cover a 2D side view. And the rest is up to your imagination anyway!
I have a suggestion, A 60~70' Classic style hardtop kind of a cross between a Lobster yacht and an Italian coupe with a raked bow and transom stern
Hi, wwch and Steve! Thank you for your contributions, much appreciated! My original idea was for the members and guests to continuously participate in every step of the design. Not only suggesting a more or less complete design, but to be part of the process as the design progresses. My contribution would be the “pen”, not primarily my own imagination, but the collective imagination. Given the fact that only a registered member can comment, the “collective imagination” was perhaps a bit too optimistic. The Online member/guest ratio often seems to be 1:100+. A start could be the suggested 60 foot Power Cat, 120 meter Explorer and the 70 foot Italian Lobster Yacht. In any case, I would start out with a basic design suggestion for us/you guys to reason about as the design progresses. I guess Best Practice will become clearer as we go along. Let’s wait and see if the General forum interaction changes anything. Happy New Year! Mike
Thank you very much and a happy and prosperous new year to you as well. My intention was to give you some basic inputs but already along the lines of a yacht type I like and then use your design(s) for discussions and further inputs and details. And just like you I hope more forum members will take part in this project!
