My wife and I recently purchased a 1989 - hull 075 - 43 Post. We have started, in earnest, the refresh. We know it will be a long process but we are committed to bringing this rig back to it's best potential. We started with the bottom and running gear. I will be posting pictures of the process soon. Happy to share our experiences at any time. #staytuned #MamaCSportfishing....pictures coming soon.
671 TIB's - 485's with 2200 hours. We were about 100 turns off bringing her over to haul out but I am shocked it was not way worse than that considering the condition of the bottom at that time. I expect to see easily 2550-2600 WOT and I pray to pick up at least 2 knots with reduced fuel burn as well. I will post those numbers as soon as we are back in the water.
Great progress on the bottom. Best of luck with the rest. Your squeezing out lots of ponies with those TIB's.
Pettit Ablative in dark blue? Looks great! You see the same standard 3 colors of bottom paint on 90% of our boats. That dark blue just feels more modern, yet, just as classic. I did a full sand this winter on my MK1 43. TI’s at 450 with 4 blades. Rudders and trim tabs painted. Running gear as delivered from the factory. Ran 22-22.5 kts. at 2100 bringing her home from winter storage. 2-3’ Lake Michigan stacked followers. No problem pushing 25 kts on the downhill side. Full tanks all around. One adult, a 2nd grader, a 4th grader and Jimmy Johns for lunch. Ran 20.5 kts. this past weekend - same rpm and similar seas. Tons of mossy river carpet hanging on below the waterline.
I went through a refresh on my boat in Stuart over the last 10 years. I know some of the local marine tradesman. PM me if you want to know who did what for me.
