My 1990 46 only had one when I purchased it. Has anybody replaced one or found a source for the drop-in deck holds under the hatches in the cockpit?

    Thanks

I have two of them in my shed. I pulled them both out because they took up so much room and I needed to fabricate more storage in the lazarette for scuba tanks, scuba compressor scuba equipment, grill and miscellaneous stuff. I have an on deck live well and a strap on fish bag. Mine are from 90 46. Just kept them so when I sell the boat they can keep her original.

If the same tubs, can they be used as samples to fab plugs and make new molded ones?

Should be fairly easy to splash a mold of of the one you have and make (or have made) another.

Yeah I may have to try my hand at that. My local fiberglass guy has dropped off the map and projects are beginning to stack up.

I asked my (now retired like me) fiberglass expert what it was he used to backup a splash to strengthen enough to pull parts. He suggested BCC Products epoxy backfill or Hydro Cal mold support solution. Also used on thin parts as temporary support to stabilize to make the splash.

He is the best fiberglass guy I ever met. Did some repairs on my wife's Top Flight 1970 Corvette. I know where they are and can't find them from the back side (wife and I are both NCRS judges, she is a Master Judge). Went so far as to have the splash replicate the random surface fibers seen on the original parts !
