The new "Magic Carpet" for the same owner has now been delivered. The latest iteration is called "Magic Carpet e". The 30.5-meter was built this time by Persico Marine and was launched last year and now delivered. Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier are the designers for the interiors and exteriors respectively. The name this time has 'e' as part of the name, signifying its hybrid-electric capabilities. The battery has the option to be charged dockside with even a 20kW charger. This is estimated to top-up the battery with the process taking around five hours.
Guillaume Verdier is responsible for the interiors. Despite this yacht being built to race, the interiors are well-appointed. The interior is versatile and some elements of it can be removed to save weight for the vessel when it intends to race. In fact 200kg can be removed from the interiors.
I've watched the Volvo Ocean Race for over 20 years and always thought "what am amazing adventure that would be"... But now I think this kind of "racing" aesthetic is more my vibe.
