Found an Indy live tap while anchored in St Aug. Alex did good. I know Carl was watching, from his note earlier but could not find it, But found this more proper thread to revive.
Newgarden was in 6th and pitted for low fuel pressure. Recalled next lap, then the next lap. He slowly crawled out of the car on this last pit. Pissed would be an understatement. I think Palou was later than 8th when this happened, then slowly crawled up. If not for the fuel issue, could had been a great race between these two smooth masters.
Sorry 'bout that. I removed the thread after realizing had posted about Rick Mears many years ago. Anyhow, the first half of the Indy race was some pretty strange mishaps and blunders, but as they say... that's racing. IMO all of these guys are winners. And pretty exceptional humans too.
I'm living in St Aug now, and I caught that live tap of the race as well. I likely wouldn't have watched the whole thing as I was never a fan of oval racing,....much prefer road courses. But I was suffering from an extreme case of cramps all over my body, starting with both hands,. so just lying on the couch watching the whole race. Don't know what caused the bad cramps? Wish I had the makings for a good margarita at hand,...but had run out of tequila. I don't do much boating these days, but ever once in a while I think about having one of those 26 ft Firefly trimarans readily at hand and taking it out for a sail. What a joy it was to sail,..and small enough to handle by myself,...at least it use to be before I reached this age.
A friend suggested it might have been some sort of sugar reaction to the desert my lady neighbor gave me earlier that day,....piece of cherry pie with ice cream topping ....some of these store bought pies have LOTS of sugar, and i have to watch out for such.
Now your just trying to make sense of things, diet and science. Were ole pharts, we have to tinker on the salt water. The kats and I have been back on the boat for a week now, Were feeling great. Oh, da wife is with us also, she is still mean but there is always hope she will calm down.
