    1) Yachts that become so danged cool that, over the years, no longer depreciate, but, instead, appreciate.

    2) If, unfortunately, we have to suffer yet other species extinctions, please let them be, in order, barnacles and zebra mussels.

    3) WalMart discovers the burgeoning market for inexpensive boat equipment and parts for all the major manufacturers.

    4) A blue-ribbon economics study that proves marina slips will provide a municipality with more income than condominiums will.

    5) Just enough global warming to raise the sea level so that you don't hit that ##!@**#! rock ever again.

    6) The level of general economic well-being rises sufficiently to allow Lars to retire off to his gorgeous little motorsailer, 'outmywindow' is able to acquire another window so that he is able to become 'outmywindows', CTDave moves up to a 60 Bertram in order to fit that necessary "bigger" Whaler on the foredeck, Teenna is named CEO of a large Italian yacht builder, Kelly is able to retire in style to the yacht of his choice, and---I'm running out of breath here---Carl finally completes his secret project: a nuclear-powered camera-equipped all-weather drone that can fly anywhere on the planet to take pix of yachts. With a flash that works.

    7) Forty or fifty other posters to add to this Santa list ( hey, I'm not greedy ).

    Merry Christmas to all!

    Thanks Loren,

My little boat is now up for the winter rest so all I wish is for the spring to arrive soon again...

But our production boats are still in the water until it is frozen over, so maybe I´ll be able to get a Christmas trip out in the archipelago!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

    /Lars

Absolutely brilliant! Another must read Loren post!

Wish I could conjure up something as creative, but my wishes would pale in comparison. I know, how about this. My alter ego has some random wishes…

    1. For used boats to depreciate in proportion to their neglect.

    2. For home prices to be affordable for the average millionaire.

    3. To one day be rich enough to pay someone else to workout for me.

    4. A nationwide mandate for restaurants to have better lighting so I can read the darn menu!

    5. For people driving too slow in the left lane to suffer premature transmission failures that aren’t covered under warranty.

And finally Santa, I have one more, very special request…

...maybe you could allow yacht builders to gaze upon the past. Let them embrace the resurrection of the pony car. Santa, we don’t need sailboats with F-117 canopies. We don’t want dated before it splashed, futile attempts at capturing consumer interest. Give us something majestic, standing tall against the test of time, real yachts that mere mortals can aspire to. You know, the kind that take our breath away - well under 100 feet I might add - that invoke deep reflections on a simple, sweet era long past. Santa, bring us a baby Broward, a Burger Timeless Cruiser, or maybe a half-pint Westport?

    Thanks Santa.

    P.S. Santa

P.S. Santa: could you drop one more stick of dynamite on the inside reef pass at Provo while you're flying over?

Great bit Lauren! Best wishes all!

    Bravo Loren!

You hit my modest Christmas wish right on the head!

    The other wish list

It is discovered on Christmas day that the Gulf Stream has changed course and Long Island sound in now clear blue & 78 degrees. Marlin, swordfish and tuna have been spotted off the coast of Greenwich. Shooters & Hooters agree on a joint restaurant/bar venture & ask me to be the "quality controll" specialist. My wife for some reason likes the idea and says it's ok. Town officials ask me to name every stupid traffic light in the area so they can dismantle them and then give me a Sherman tank & tell me to take care of any vehicle that I determine is being a nuisance. That afternoon once I have cleared the town's roadways up, I find that I have won the mega gazillion lottery. I immediately buy waterfront property and build custom homes for everyone on Yacht Forums for free (I will substitute a smaller home plus yacht of choice). I also hand out "free fuel for life" cards which are good at any marina in the world.
Ok, in reality I would like everybody and their families to have a very happy healthy & safe Christmas and new year!

Best wishes and a good health to all!

Christmas came early this year at our place.

I'm not sure if it was santa or the doctor, but on November 2nd. we were blessed with our son Victor Pieter Ferdinand Moonen.

This is what a proud daddy looks like!
Now lets get him enlisted for his first sailing class.

Have a great christmas and a happy new year.
Oh yeah; don't drink and drive (really);)

Judging from the size of V.P.F.'s fist, he'll be hauling in the genoa faster than the other guy on the winch can keep up!

Congratulations on becoming a new Dad and Merry Christmas.

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes
for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress,
non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice
holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious
persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with
respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of
others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions
    at all ...

... And a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically
uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted
calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of
choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make
America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than
any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the Western Hemisphere),
and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability,
religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of
    the wishee.

(By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This
greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely
transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no
promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for
her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is
revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted
to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for
a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday
greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement
of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the
    wisher.)

For the other 95% of the population who does care one way or the other
    Merry Christmas

    CTDave,
If the gulf stream ran down LI Sound, that would be reason enough for me to move back to NY. We'll be catching tuna under the Triborough, white marlin under the Whitestone and king fish off of King's County (showng my age). Until then I'm staying down here.
Well, I can't compete with the literary geniuses who have already posted, so I'll just wish everyone a Happy Holiday and Healthy New Year.
    Capt Tom

PS Bjorn, usually it's the stork that brings the new babies. Santa doesn't deal with live catch. Congrats!

    A Christmas Prayer!

A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson

Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
    the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.

    Amen.

To all YF Members and Friends,
May you and your loved ones have a most Joyous and Meaningful Christmas!
    Arnie
