I looked at a 43 Cabo Convertible that had a washer/dryer installed under the steps in the galley. Photo attached. Has anyone found a place on a 40 Cabo Convertible to install a small washer/dryer combo?

I don’t have a suggestion as to where to put a W/D on your new, to you, 40’ Cabo. I will say though, having a W/D is fantastic. My 54’ had a stacked set when I bought it. Originally, I planned to take it out and put a freezer in its place. I figured, why do I need a W/D? Ten years later and I can’t imagine not having it. Being able to wash the towels, sheets, etc right on the boat is fantastic. Also allows for packing less clothes for longer trips. I keep my lucky fishing clothes on the boat and just wash them there. And boating in a rain forest makes a clothes dryer a great feature.

My main point here, if you can find a spot, a W/D is really nice, convenient feature.

Cpt maritime did you ever figure this out? Been eyeing a Cabo 40 for the skinny waters in Fl where I live now but I’ve gotten quite used to a W/D onboard

My Cabo 40 will be back at our Florida house at some point in the future - because of the hull design/prop pockets she will fit nicely in the skinny water behind the house down there. Regarding a washer dryer on the 40 Convertible, the one location that I'm considering is the hanging locker in the guest stateroom on the stbd side.

I have one on the 48. I got about 12 uses out of it and it went dead during use. Drained it and sucked water out with shop vac. Took clothes to laundry mat. Once I got boat home talked to manf and it most likely was power surge and blown capacitor. Ironically a dockmate was putting in a new unit on his Mikelson so I called manf and confirmed his existing machine used same capacitor. Grabbed part before he recycled it. Was able to install one handed from access hatch at rear. Back in operation now. Hardly ever use it but it is nice to have. If I have to actually pull it to fix next time I will turn that space into closet no question. Time will tell.

What is the model number of the unit on your 48? Is it one of the combo washer/dryers?

Splendide Combomatic. Can't recall model off top of my head. Nice to have and hope it proves reliable.
