What's your favorite yacht?

It is so difficult to just pick out 1 favourite. I like the most of what Sunseeker and Princess does, I think its so clean and the design is very smooth. I think a megayacht would be to big for me, so a boat around 60-100 feet would fit me perfect.

So I say Princess V65 and Sunseeker 95 predator with a blue hull.

Really late to this party, but...

Well, Carl, another fine thread with interesting and interested posters.
The biggest 'n baddest boats, like "Limitless", I certainly expected for the "cost is no object" choice.
Wallys, Sunseekers, Eco (jeez, she does look like an old Dreadnaught--not ugly, but kind of like the pretty girl with the eyes too far apart)...acquired tastes, I guess.

Some of the posters actually thought that how the boats get used might be important, and kudos to them.

OK. The envelope. pliz....For the expensive choice, make mine any Feadship that JM didn't own ( those institutional interiors probably only impressed the auditors) or an earlier Flushdeck Burger. Why? Because they radiated taste & class, were practical, and their interiors (mostly) were reminiscent of a gentleman's club.
And isn't that what a yacht should do? Make you feel special? And, by gosh, they looked like Proper Yachts.

Now to the choice of a poor schlub worrying about whether he should spring for the Heinekins as opposed to the Bud and does he have enough dough to pull up to the Shooters dock and entertain his sweetie while still pulling it off in a "cool" boat.
Tough choice here. Pre-May markets crash, I'd take my 1980 all-original Bertram 31.
Now poorer, here in June, choice number two would be the beautifully restored Boston Whaler Montauk 16 resplendent in freshly varnished seats & console.
Oh, and a big fish half hanging out of the box for additional points!

Both say "old money" but don't require it. Both are meant to be used for Everything you might do on the water and to have fun, and, finally, to look good while doing it.

My two-cents worth

Fortunate Son (ex Perfect Prescription) just does it for me.
Her lines are absolutely exquisite. She always looks regal and classy, no matter where she is anchored.

I prefer Rising Sun to Octopus, simply because she looks sleeker and less cruise-ship like. Got a great look at her exterior a few months ago here in the BVI. (And what's up with all the secrecy anyway?) But seriously, does a yacht have to be that big?

Right now, I'm also a fan of the Ferretti 94 - simply because it has the nicest crew quarters I've seen in a while for a boat of that size.

Yup, any boat with decent crew quarters would get my vote. My current "home" would be classified more as crew 'sixteenths' than quarters!

Gentlemen, you are forgeting completely where it all started. It's ok to quote Bannenberg for the contributions in the large yachts field, but when we get to the stylish sleek lines of so called italian style we have to mention Alucraft/Baglietto creations from the late 80' from the drawing board of Alberto Mercati, a forgotten hero of the italian design stable. And the best example of all this, and at the same time my favorite is M/YAdler.

Wow, this one is new to me...ah, this is why the old one is so cheap...less than 3million euro for a 115 footer with a gas turbine, hihi! A real bargain for a still nice yacht.

Well, at the time this was the only access Baglietto designed for their enginne rooms. I remember Nastasha, same thing. However, A biege interior base, now, with 70ies being trendi is very easy to refresh with a nice new loose furniture and a few panels of a trendy wood, like ebony or zebra wood.
One should also change the beds, fittings like fossets, a million dollar outfit would make it look like built just yesterday. Great potential she has, and that is why I say it's my favorite. It really resisted the time. Did anybody ever saw what were yachts, even other Bagliettos looking like when Adler was built?

Phoenix, for her lines as a 200 footer

Enterprise V, I like the deep blue hull color

Moecca, more megayacht cats to come, even wave piercers.

Heesens, like Sun Ark for their speed.

Starship for her jet drives.

Should I continue?

Short answer: If it floats, is comfortable, and my girlfriend/wife and I are alone on it as we cruise the oceans of the world... then it's my fave.

I like the Westport 130, great layout big enough and small enough. I also fell in love with Defiant the first time I saw it. Its probably the blue hull but what a great looking boat. I see its for sale, too bad its not in my budget. but its nice to dream.
