    Is this you Lars?

Headlines in Norwegian newspapers, this Delta 88 came flying through a 5 knot speed zone, between reefs and rocks without regard for docked boats or kids swimming.
The 88 is named Big Beaver and registered in the Cayman Islands.
The video is available at VG.no

Not me, and I don't know the present owner so I don't know if they have a local knowledge and wanted to show off.. like flying under a bridge... but it doesn't look good...

UPDATE; I have now read in a local newspaper that the crew found it safer to go faster in the narrow strait as it was a strong wind and since they could not see any other small boats nearby...

Residential area, kids swimming, speed limit, etc.
(Imagine a dump truck barreling through a kindergarten)
At the very best it can be called reckless operation of a vessel, authorities over there
    are not pleased.

    Well, I was not there.
    But in looking from my view;
In Florida, we are used to that and know the authorities are far away, preventing a robbery at the doh-nut shop.
Florida Sea-Rays make a much taller wake. That lil Delta just made a ripple.
Kids swimming in the channel? I would hope not, that current would take them away.
I would say that dump truck was next to the kindergarten. Or is it proper for kindergarten kids to play in the streets (channel)??

But the very best part; Real authorities over there are not pleased.
In Florida, They just get pissed when they have to clean up body parts and miss another "Hot" doh-nut dinner..

From what I could see, no damaged or injeries. Just some tightly wadded up SpeedO's.

Sorry kids, I have to throw some peanut shells at what may be upsetting you.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm always amazed at the lack of wake given off by the Delta hulls designed by Lars. SeaDoos throw a bigger wake!

I think the boats pilot should of at least sounded a horn, as in entering a blind or restricted visibility turn or event.
This would of warned other boats near and maybe the folks wearing under sized SpeedOs offering some kind of "Heads Up" signal.

It is a different culture, the whole world is not like Florida.
The few days with warm weather in Scandinavia will see kids (and adults) swimming in their backyards and no, this is not a ships channel.
No need to throw peanut shells, nobody here is upset, you are barking up the wrong tree, or just like to argue...?o_O

James "007" Bond at the helm trying to outrun Dr. No aboard Moonraker all in pursuit of Octopussy...:):)
On a serious note whether on land or at sea risk takers can be dealt serious consequences, thankfully Bond did not harm persons or possessions

I am glad to read this. Parts of this place (FL) is messed up.
this is not a ships channel.
Could be one now. So the Delta was exploring uncharted water?
just like to argue...? No sir. Not arguing. Just throwing some crappy humor at it.
Is there anything else that can be done with this story other than friends poking fun at it??

This is a little confusing to me, since there is wide open waters south of the island where this narrow and shallow strait is on the north side. I would never go this way at all if I have not done it before, so probably at least one onboard must be local..?

It does look a little narrow but hardly seems to be a spot where they would be swimmers especially kids. Why do I suspect yet another example of hate the evil rich luxury yacht owners piece of journalistic fake news? Just like the Jeff Bezos ordering the destruction of historic bridge.

the angle of the camera and zoom makes difficult to judge the distance. It doesn’t seem much tighter than some of the cuts in the bahamas. I ve run Gun Cay Cut at 20kts with an 84, I m sure a shore side video would be incriminating. At least this one is straight, not a zig zag :)

Change of plans; That bridge will remain intact. No mods will have to be made.
Further; There were no destruction plan, just removing the span and re-installing, as has happened before .

BTW, have you looked at that bridge? There are no roads to it. Just an historical bridge that has NO traffic. Some folk walk over it occasionally.

As you can see from the photo, there almost a 25' gap in the reef just by the point at Halfmoon Bay, Antigua. Along the reef there is normally breaking water and rollers coming in. Lots of swimmers and snorkelers by the reef.

I used to run my Blackfin 33' both in and out of there at about 20kt. Only Dad and myself would regularly go in there, even the local fishermen avoided it.

I ran alongside a Delta 88 in Narragansett Bay not too long ago. It was flying , moving through the water with grace and power. Very impressive.

I m not going to judge the captain based on a poor quality video. But yes the whole thing smells like fake news.
