    Following up on this project of mine. I have been between trying to use weather strip without lifting the cockpit floor and actually lifting the floor to properly replace the weather seal/gasket and I think I have decided on the latter. As of now I plan on using a product from taco marine (https://tacomarine.com/weather-seal). I am hoping that a proper installation of one of their weather seal products would create a water tight seal in my situation.     I had a boat Marquis 59 and very similar design and issue. It turned out that I would only get water ingress when the cockpit carpeting was not installed. It was a marine, rubber backed, indoor/outdoor carpet. The carpet covered the entire cockpit area including the seam. I did also find boat building debris in the drains. Yes, I realize this sounds a bit hokie...but just thought I would pass along to keep you from going to too much trouble.
