Hi All. We are planning to spend 15-20 days this June in the Bahamas. This will be our 14th time, but rather than have our larger 90’ motor yacht we are doing it speedboat style! LOL. We are picking up a 42 Scout that cruises 35-40. Just the wife and me.

So with that speed I want to visit places that were too far away to visit before. The trick is we need wife friendly accommodations. We might anchor a night or two in some place like little pipe cay to give the sea keeper a try if weather is really good. But otherwise looking for resort marina combos.

I think we will start at chub which we now well. I’d like to find a place in Andros and then run to Staniels and Stocking island. And then hit some way out places where suggestions are needed! Cat, Long, etc….

I think we will finish off w some place in Eleuthera and then abacos and then walkers ( which will be sleeping in the boat. )

    Look forward to your suggestions!

Most of the out islands don't have great or any hotels. But you have the perfect boat to check out some places that get passed over by bigger boats like Kalalume Cay on Andros is spectacular.

I agree with Kalamalemale cay on Andros. I never remember the name … it’s spectacular and their small docks can accommodate center console. We once stopped and anchored out to dinghy in to meet some friends. Beautiful landscaping and architecture, great food and service.

Chub is an obvious choice, beautiful

McDuffs on Norman’s, they have a few cottages. The marina is open.

I think Highborne has cottages too.

Staniel obviously, if they have availability…

Yes, I'm also a fan of Kamalame. Tiamo down in Driggs Hill in South Bight is another in Andros that's been pretty much under the radar, but is small and stays full.

Crooked Island Lodge if you want to stretch further out. Run back up the outside of Eleuthera to Harbor Island...

I'm actually going to squeeze in there with the big gal. Cuz, why not. Good people there....I'll stay on genny, but escape the surge. Next stop from there would be South Bight, tuck up inside, tender in to Tiamo and head west for bonefish.

Not sure who the big girl is :) but it’s tight and skinny in there.

Kahari resort in Gtown is very nice. We have friends who stayed there and loved it. They have docks in the lagoon behind, tight and narrow but ok with a centerconsole

Danvilletim, sounds like an awesome trip especially exploring Andros. I realize it is not what you asked about but I think there are some accommodations near Great Harbor Cay Marina in the Berrys from there you could anchor out a night and do the blue hole at Hoffmanns. Or if staying on the Scout is not that comfortable then rent a place near the marina and day trip to more remoter islands of the Berrys. I want to do it but right now too chicken to take a 5’ draft in there. Great Harbor used to have a bed and breakfast named Caralie that was near Great Harbor Cay Marina. It was very nice when I was there 3 years ago. You could rent a car to get there from the Marina. Have fun and share some pictures with us.

I ve been to great harbor cay marina a few times. Couple of times with a 70 drawing 6 1/4 and the other times with an 84 drawing a little over 5’. Easy in and out

I was referring to getting in behind Hoffmans in the Scout and visiting the blue hole and nearby beaches with a 5’ draft. Great Harbor is not a problem as you said with a 5’ draft.

We ve also anchored behind white cay, on the south side of Hoffman plenty of room and depth. A little surge right behind white cay but there is room further in too
