My Link 1000 monitor for the Freedom 25, 2500 watt inverter/charger has decided to fail. The unit still seems to control the Freedom 25 but the LED display is dim and flickers. Apparently the Link 1000 is out of production. I have not been able to discern which remotes currently in production will be compatible with the Freedom 25 inverter. Has anyone dealt with either replacing or upgrading their monitors that can shed some light. I have yet to reach out to Zantrax because what reading I have done leads me to believe that would lead to frustration. Thanks for any input Carpe Diem
I know the display your working with. Wiggle all connects. Its power comes from the battery connect, not the inverter. I'll be in my shop tomorrow. After so many downsizing attempts, I may still have a used one. I do have to comment, not to many of those square wave inverters are still around. Time is not on your side. This could be a sign to upgrade past the caveman inverter technology. By all means, dont go with the new Zantrex junk.
I went ahead and replaced my display with a Zantrex because it was an inexpensive way to extend the life of the inverter. Once the inverter system fails or shows signs of failure I will replace with a modern system. Since this boat serves mainly as a condo with only five or six excursions with in 50 miles a year, the inverter is pretty low on the list of needed updates.
Xantrex products were great years ago until they move production to commie china. Then quality went to … you know where. I believe Magnum Inverters are still made in the US. I ve used them before and they re very good. Something to consider when your xantrex bites the dust
Well, Er, Ah, Oh,,, Lets say they worked for a while, THEN went down the tubes when the little companies were joined and then built in China. Any original equipment out there may out live us. Sadly low tech and not to efficient. Now days, the current Xantrex is a dangerous fire product in my opinion. Just to many experiences to see any other out come: It will fail smoke test. I used to sell Mastervolt and Victron. Actually ended up with a Magnum on our Bertram. These products have never let us or our customers down. No smoke has escaped yet, some after many, many years.. Most of those ole Freedom 25s were built long before these later merges. It's old tech but still works. AS the OP states, his is still working and happy camping. Pretty darn good for an ole square wave that may not be driving any modern equipment. One day, it will happen, hope the OP remembers these posts.
