    I am in the process of purchasing a 1987 Ocean Yachts 38 SS. Survey reveals moisture in deck primary around bow rail posts. Does anyone know what the deck core is made of? Thanks.

    My 87 44 SS is balsa. That is a pretty common problem.

    Fore deck is marine plywood, very typical issue on these boats. Another trouble area is around the salon windows, foredeck hatches and pulpit
