Seeking advice on boat ownership & operation for newbie

Our last boat being 72' pilothouse had bow and stern thrusters and it was a real convenience when the two of us were docking. Was easy to thruster either us over to get a line with the remote. The bow thruster was hydraulic which ran off the port generator, stern thruster was electric and added by the PO. One more thing to maintain on the boat but worth having if a cruising couple without a crew.

Capt. Ralph, that is what you need after docking and all hands tell you that you made mistakes. ROFL

Back to the leeky's question in post #59, we have managed our 59' fat Bert well on docking and pushing the bow around well with out thrusters.
We just don't chicken stuff around once a plan is in motion.
32" propellers help a little also.
Against 20kt winds, just make sure you get it on the first pass. If it is that bad, stay off or find another dock.
