    Hi PacBlue,
I understand Vripack assisted with the fluid dynamics for the new N41, but what other Nordhavn boats did Vripack have involvement with?

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is around the corner, actually starts Wednesday. The N80 and N41 that will be on display are already in their slips waiting and being prepared.

Nordhavn N55 "Red Rover" in action. Red Rover left Bahia del Sol, El Salvador and the marina is in an estuary and there is a bar crossing to get in and out.

I'm surprised to see such a reputable builder like Nordhavn release a video with so many blatant safety violations. I realize different countries have different rules but this video has some of the worst I've seen. Two people riding a forklift standing on a pallet. Same people then being lifted while standing on a pallet. Then the guy sitting on top of the mold driving wedges in all with zero fall protection. I was cringing watching this.

Another example why the labor is cheaper over there.
In another world, that was SSDD, not anything violating safety.

After you have fallen off or watched somebody else fall off, you learn how to ride a pallet to heights and crack a mold apart.
They understand, you frack up, you die or can't feed your family any more. So, don't frack up.
If you don't want to crack that mold, there is a line of folks to replace you that will do it in your place.

I'm sure no fracking union over there. No OSHA over there either. Just a bunch of hungry folk.
Kind of keeps it simple in a way.

I am going to tiptoe into this very carefully because I do not
want to start a debate that does not belong on a yachting forum. Here in Canada and with my many American friends there is a tendency to assume that people who do not live and act the way we do are either poverty stricken, suppressed or stupid. The idea that they take a different view of things never occurs to us. The average monthly wage in Taiwan is $4600 USD a month or about $52,000 USD a year. You can live very well on this in Taiwan. Housing is good and cheaper, food is good and cheaper, healthcare is universal and very good and low cost, education including university is free and public transit is excellent. For comparison the average wage in the US is $7600 USD a month but costs are higher and less is free. Most of the skilled workers in those clips are earning the average or better so they are not putting themselves in harms way out of desperation. This is not to justify what seems like a foolish risk to me too. I go to Asia from time to time, to Taiwan and to Thailand. In Bangkok I have a well to do doctor friend with a nice house and two cars, On the weekend he and his family like to take an Italian motor bike (really a glorified scooter) with him, his wife, three kids balanced as outriders and often the dog and zoom off on a family trip at 50 mph on crowded highways. Without helmets! They were amused at my horror. They think I am silly. My friends in Taiwan while thankful for American support against China and liking individual Americans think America is a dangerous, chaotic place where people riot, shoot one another and die without healthcare. When I tell them they are exaggerating they look at me suspiciously. It all comes down to ones expectations and viewpoint. The world out there is just different. We all applaud diversity but demand conformity. I'm as guilty of this as the next guy. Cheers.

I agree with the sentiment of your post, but disagree with what you say is the average wage in the US. My research finds the average wage in the US to be almost $5000 per month, and this is from multiple sources.

Yeah you're not wrong... indeed.com puts the average salary in the US at $1070/week, or $4600 and change per month. A few other sources come in with more or less the same numbers.

Riknpat's $7600 average is closer to the median household income per month.

Fair enough. My quote came from SalaryExplorer. Com which on closer inspection only considers full time jobs. If you factor in and pro rate the part time and seasonal job market which is a large part of the current job market then apparently just around 1,000 a week is correct as you guys suggest and probably is a more accurate reflection of how much money many American have to live on. Both in the US and Canada having two or even three part time jobs is becoming almost the norm for many people. The self employed are also a grey number as it is widely believed that they under report their incomes. Full time employees also tend to get benefits which add value to the compensation package which part time and seasonals never do. Tough new world for the young uns. After tax income is the only thing that really matters too and I did not compare (or have any knowledge of) the comparison of income taxes between Taiwan and the US. I guess my original point was that the sort of people working for Nordhavn aren't hard up for dough by local or even world standards.
