Hello everyone, was wondering if anyone has had a problem with a capital transmission finding neutral. If you move control lever about an inch forward you can get it. Cables and controls not slipping. The boat is 1980 post with 671 ti about 3200 hrs. Runs fine in forword and in reverse no slipping or noises. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bamp
Google Capitol marine gears dot com and you can get the manual for your gear. You need the model number found on the metal tag on the gear.
Welcome. Did he get you straightened out or is there an issue ? I would like to know what you find out if you don't mind sharing the info.
Something went wrong, bamp. It looks like you zigged when you should have zagged. Please, try your response to chesapeake46 again. At least 3 of us would like to hear from you.
Hi guys sorry for the long delay getting back .Talked to Chris Jones in SC and he said sounds like a cracked reverse drum . I may have explained it wrong to him. I got a name of a good Detroit guy that knows capital transmissions and he said he would take look. If it is a cracked drum it means pull the trans. Put the boat in my winter slip today and worked ok just port shift lever was not on center. Will keep you posted.
