Well, today we finally closed on our dream vessel. From the moment we saw it and set foot on her about 4 years ago we knew it was the one. We honestly had no idea how it would ever happen... but today it did.

My wife and I closed on our new to us Rayburn 76 Custom. This vessel was dubbed Watermark when new (Rayburn Custom 76' M/Y "WATERMARK" - SOLD! - Yachts 50' to 99' | YachtForums: We Know Big Boats!) and (2001 76' Rayburn Watermark (Now Sold) - Yachts 50' to 99' | YachtForums: We Know Big Boats!) but has since lived a much calmer life in the PNW. She has been across the Atlantic twice, Med, up and down East and West coasts of N and S America. Her build quality is just amazing and mechanically its perfect (to us).

Anyway, I just had to share the news somewhere! While we will be tied to the PNW for the next 6+ years, our dream is to take her back down the coasts, through the Canal and do some exploring on our own!

Beautiful boat! Congrats!! Paul Rayburn was an early member of YF. Here's some information that may be useful...

Rayburn current designs are created and managed in house with the Naval Architecture by Ed Hagemann and structural engineering by Peter Dunsford. Interior joinery design and fabrication drawings are by Dave Boudreau.

    Wonderful, congratulations.
Let's hear more about the mechanicals, power plant, battery management and so on. No wonder you are selling your Californian LRC.
What is the cruise and potential range of her?

Did that boat belong to a car dealer from Charleston about 10 years ago? If so, I have been on board, and remember she had a lot of staterooms for her size without feeling cramped. Also, she was a very nice boat.
    Congratulations,

Thanks all. I have always called it our dream vessel not only because it’s roomy and beautiful, but the mechanical side checks all my boxes. What’s nuts is when you start crawling around in the bilges and those hidden compartments and see that they are all finished off with a beautiful smooth high gloss white finish that’s nicer than the exterior of many boats. She was designed to allow its owners to run without crew and venture almost anywhere with reliable and redundant systems while avoiding those overly complex systems that can cause problems down the road.

Other than some minor maintenance she is ready to go and see the world. She has 2 Atlantic crossings and has seen both east and west coasts of N and S America. Has all the power systems to handle plugging in anywhere in the world, and proper hydraulics for all its systems. The previous owner updated all the soft goods, all new large garmin displays, and in general is in amazing condition. You know when you get a survey back and he only found like 4 things and 2 of them were updating the certification on fire extinguishers and life raft on a vessel with all the systems this has that you are starting from a good point.

I couldn’t be happier. We still can’t believe it’s true.

thanks again for all the kind words everyone.

It has around 2700 gallons and has crossed the Atlantic so pretty good range. Cruise is around 10kt with 15kt max.
Way too much to list on the equip. The old ad listed above lists the core stuff. All new garmins now but would like to update inverters with new Victron system. The 20yr old system is getting a little long in the tooth at this point.

I don’t know about the previous owners but it only has 3 State rooms. All very roomy with private heads and an upper day head.

Congrats and best of luck. I love a traditional boat and between the helm, interior fit & finish, and her profile I would be in love with her too

Olderboater, thanks for the link to look at the boat. I didn't like that you can't make it full screen so I found this link where you can:

I also have the Youtube app for streaming, so I went there and did a search for "26 North Yachts Rayburn 76" and found it that way. On the big TV screen you are able to see the beauty of the boat.

JadePanama, You and your family have a beautiful yacht. I wish you many years of good sailing.

Here’s a little newer video than that one. Has had new couches and all new electronics since this one. And thank you all for the kind words. We are still getting all of our junk…er…stuff situated :).

Simply stunning. Immaculate engine room. Imagine all that in a 76 footer.

The interior reminds me of a high end gentlemen's club or cigar lounge. Absolutely stunning! Are the CAT engines original? What HP rating are they and how many hours on them?

They are 3406 800hp. Around 6000 hours but have been very meticulously maintained annually by a top Cat mechanic. He claims they are as solid as he has ever seen and expects another 6k at least. We will see I guess :).

Now I just need to forget all the DD and Volvo knowledge in my head lol

and yes, the mohogany is amazing and still in like new shape.
