Can anyone tell me what the major difference is between a Pershing 62 and 64? Not sure why Pershing would build two yachts so similar

What years of each are you comparing? I ask because they've changed at times.

    2005-2010 Era.
For example there is an 05 62S and 2010 64S for sale. Just trying find out the major differences and if spending the extra for the 64 is worth it.

Simply because the 64 replaced/evolved the 62, using the same hull mould.
Interior and deck layout are more different than you might expect from an evolution model, though.
But which is preferable and whether the price difference is worth, well, these are questions for which it's pointless to look for any answers other than your own, methinks... :)

Then later and not in the time period you're looking, Pershing introduced a new 62 which is a new hull but still very similar. The reality is as Mapism points out, only you can decide which boat you like, which layout and interior.

five years apart is pretty significant value wise in addition to changes and improvement developed over that time. Engine hours could have an impact too

The Pershing 64 I was told that had hull design improvement over the 62.

The Pershing 64 is a much better boat overall, and has better resale value.
Of important note and a major difference is how the patio door goes into the floor and makes the hard top area unite seamlessly with the aft deck.

Thank you all for your input. I am aware of all the variables like layout engine hours etc. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, my bad. We always hope that newer is better but that is not always the case. We hope that manufacturers learn from their mistakes and previous generations. Major hull design changes, overall powerplant changes and anything related to structural design that cannot be modified. Is the 64 really much better then the 62 and why is what I was looking for.

I wonder if you can contact Pershing and discuss the benefits of the 2010 64 compared to the 2005 62?
Since you are looking at Pershing, someone there may be able to discuss the in house opinions as to the changes and the benefits as they saw it.
2010 is now 12 years old and the 2005 is 17 depending on the launch and commissioning timing. All else equal, 17 years is getting time for refit on a lot of gear and kit probably.

Obviously I have no knowledge to assist you, just know I would reach out to Pershing for this question too.
