Does your Post get water in the engine room coming in through the hull side air intakes? The just installed thru hull that is aft/below the port engine room air inlet has developed a very nice green patina in just a few weeks. It's all on the top faces, so looks like it got a fair bit of spray in the rough running over Labor Day weekend. That thru hull is closed (raw water wash) so pretty much rules out leaks in it's plumbing.

I'd noticed the wood floor pieces in the same area, outside of the outside stringer, also looked like it was getting wet but didn't put the two together before.

Sounds like you have your answer and you know what you have to do.

Was wondering if the Post inlets are supposed to have ducting to keep the water out (like Viking inlets) that could be missing on our boat.

I'm a Viking guy , but one would assume there should be.
Can you access the engine room side of them? If so just measure up covers with top open and install on inside,

See, yes. Access, not so much. They are up behind the sound insulated engine room side panels.

Some boats have the intakes as a separate aluminum or stainless assy that is inserted from outside.
If yours are like that could you remove them , build a deflector into the backside and reinstall?

Post intakes are molded part of the hull. Two horizontal slot openings with top inside hull open for air.
