We own a AZ 58 and like on many Boats when the years pass, the glued wall covers get loose. Reason is that the foam on the backside of the wall cover textile during the years dissolve and thus no longer sticks to the wall. We are from Germany and are trying to find sources where to get suitable wall cover textiles, since everything you buy from Azimut is 5-10 x more expensive like market price. There is one source in italy https://www.socovenamapla.it/produc...i-per-rivestimenti-en/botero-textile/?lang=en Are there any other known sources which may provide other colors for similar kind of wall cover material?
If you mean the flybridge model of the late 90s, what you are experiencing is not surprising at all. But as a material for the refitting, you could consider using Alcantara, rather than any type of textile. Regardless of the inner foam quality, it doesn't get as loose as textile over time, and (imho) it also feels much nicer.
I’m buying a 2014 and all the walls and ceilings have to be done, I’m getting prices to redo it and it’s not cheap
Well, on a 2014 boat that's not so normal. Waddumean "have to be done", is that because you don't like them, they were abused, or what?
Yeah, saw it on YW. Best find the real reason before embarking on that purchase because that's not normal for age. Also your cross threading here. Kinda frowned on here.
On Azimuts it's very normal. On most other yachts it's not normal. A 10 year old yacht is where you really see whether it was a quality build or not.
I just went with a client to see a Sunseeker year 2015 55 Manhattan and it had the same peeling walls and parts of its soffit. Go figure it is only make A then B that does this.
