    The OP's boat is a solid bottom, any wet core areas would be from the waterline up. A lot of builders were using balsa back then before foam coring. Most are now using resin infusion or vacuum bagging methods when coring, even on cored bottoms which now they claim is ok. All it takes is a unsealed fastener that penetrates the fiberglass coring, especially balsa and plywood. Best to monitor where something is fastened to the cored fiberglass with screws and bolts for moisture. Glassed wood stingers and bulkheads in the bilge are often neglected.

    I have a 1991 45’ same plan as you do
    The boat was repower Ed by the previous owner
    I spent the first winter replacing all the thru hulls bildge pumps and hoses and re bonded the entire boat so basically everything below the water line
    Also rebuild the interior make all new tops and some cabinets installed a 50” tv down behind the dinette remuved the washer dryer and made that a rod locker
    Last winter installed all new heat and air and replaced all the ductwork with insulated ductwork. Also finished amtico flooring in the galley companionway head and staterooms
    Also had teak covering boards installed
    This winter plan on doing refrigeration in the cockpit and will repair a soft spot I found on the bridge
    The eventual plan is to glass in the window frames and repaint the entire boat also may reconfigure the bridge

    Nice and proper work( I can tell)!. Good job, it’s not easy.

    It sure is an awesome obsession, boats and boating that is . But we/you do have to be a little sick in the head!

    Congratulations I had a 1985 41 with that set up and the salon was huge. We loved that boat and did a lot of traveling with it. As far as coreing issues keep an eye on the the pulpit caulk seam, Of course the hatches and railings. Up inside the wings are some drains and and the Chase for the wiring down into the salon. make sure that's sealed up well and the drains need to be clear which let the water out towards the back of the overhang so the water doesn't sit up inside the wings. I do not believe there is coring anywhere below The rubber rail.
