    Hello everyone

New to this forum and boating in general. Recently purchased a 46’ wooden Chris Craft Constellation - Scorpio.
    overall in great shape so-it-seems
She has had 3 owners, now us.
my question is this…. The forward deck is what appears to be planked with 2”teak strips; however the sikaflex joints or lines are worn down to bare wood in places; leaving me to wonder if it is a form of plywood or perhaps wider than 2” planks. a previous owner applied heavy coats of varnish on all surfaces and it is blistered and rolling.
my intention is to remove that coating and restore the best I can
YouTube has only so much information and even that seems conflicted. 04EECDA6-1CC5-4076-AF3A-AA79976FB09A.jpeg 8F03E17B-FC96-419B-B168-F587147337FE.jpeg 0F47B264-5885-4900-A85B-62A56D512D4F.jpeg any way, if anyone has tips, tricks or advice. I am currently a sponge and just soaking up all the information I can get.

That teak is a thin veneer that is, I believe backed with plywood. The actual "planks" are 2 or 3 teak strips wide. If you're down through the black caulk, the deck is pretty much done. Take it up, new plywood, and fiberglass it. Then paint with non skid. It's a fairly big job.

As SeaEric said. Unfortunately having someone replace that decking would probably cost more than the actual boat. Best look at fiberglass and nonskid.
